Help Phone Causes Wifi/Router to Disconnect

Hello!

My phone can connect to the wifi connection, but after a while it causes the entire internet to go down. When this happens, no laptops or my phone can connect to the internet. There is one desktop which is directly connected to the internet, and so that never goes down. I know it is my phone because it does not happen when I am not around, and once it happened when my phone was connected but my laptop was not even turned on. I have since turned the wifi off on my phone and there are no connection problems currently.

I assume that when I am not using my phone, it times out the wifi connection and disconnects, so it may be because my phone constantly connects and disconnects to the wifi based on when I am using my phone. But even if that is the problem (and if that isn't the problem), how can I fix it?

Thanks!

I am suffering from the same problem! When I bought my new htc phone and tried to connect it on my wifi modem. The connection lasts for 3 seconds before my wifi router disconnects! When I turn it off then on again everything works fine using my laptop and my other phone but when I turn on my wifi connection of the phone the router disconnects again! I've been trying to solve the problem for three days now and couldn't although I contacted the my dsl provider and talked to many persons about the issue! This is becoming frustrating. Can anyone please help us!

I had the same problem, my wife's Samsung S4 was taking down the network. Several other devices connected without issue including my cell phone, but for some reason her phone crashed the network when she turned Wi-Fi on and connected to the network. We tried many things which did not work, and in our case the solution was to create a Guest Zone on the router to which she connected with her Samsung S4.
