Root [ROM][8/11/2012] Strike! - AOSP Speed FTW ~ [D.I.R.T]

If you're messing with kernels on this ROM you should only use stock that comes with the ROM or the mason ei 15 kernel. I've forgotten the exact build number.
Is that Mason kernel that Mike linked above correct? I need to get this menu lag fixed...or flash a new rom. So far I haven't done anything except with the cache and dalvik cache a bunch of times with no improvement.

I think so, I cannot find the .15 build for you....atyoung names his kernels as such.

So mason ginger G, ice I and sense S made fairly good sense, when dealing with one device, but I'm staring down the barrel of 2 more in the very immediate future. So now I'm faced with some naming difficulty. There's no reason to re-brand the kernel itself, it's already recognizable as is, so the letter scheme will need looking at. The first letter will be representative of the device, the second what android version it's made for. G for gingerbread aosp, I for ICS aosp, S is for sense, SI for sense ICS so it would be as follows:

For the Galaxy Nexus: NG, NI
For the Epic Touch 4G: TG, TI
For the Evo4G: EG, EI, ES
For the Evo4G LTE: LI, LSI

So, ei would be evo ice cream sandwich.
I for ICS etc.

After using this for a little while, while I still like it, it has slowed down quite a bit. Especially when opening a text thread that has lots of messages in it.

Just thought I would throw that out there.

try wiping dalvik cache and cache. if you stay on any one rom for a while things can slow down a bit. wiping the caches will help.

What kernal do i use for the strike rom?

You are using an EVO 4G? Phone is 6 years old. More power to you!

You may have a tough time finding a kernel with a good link to a download. Alot of these old custom kernels/roms no longer have good links. Good luck. Maybe there are some still out there. I can't even remember which kernel was used, if any.

I loved my EVO 4g and still have it but it is not working now.
