Root Cyanogenmod 13 Beta 1

i also encounter a few issues w the rom..super user will ask apps that have nothing to do w root access to grand permission and super user is hidden in the phone no way u can access the app very strange..
other than that great rom
Superuser is granted in developer settings. Works the way it should, doesn't need options. This is a built in version without a UI.
It will ask on apps that want to change/modify system settings, not just for superuser rights.
You could always do something like the zip file to switch over from kinguser to SuperSU, with all locations of files for installed kinguser app and replaces with SuperSU. I did this on a Hydro Icon. Just would have get all entries for built in superuser app and go from there.

Pretty much mirrors my experience.

As for multitasking apps. I've been able to multitask better (Pandora radio + other app in my case) when I upped ZRam to 400mb and swappiness to 100 using "Kernel Adiutor" from the Google Play Store. I found though you have to first turn off ZRam (slider to zero in app) and wait a bit before setting it up to 400mb. Otherwise the system's current default settings will want to override this. You can verify with the "free" command in adb or android terminal app to view ram and swap space free/used. Once your satisfied set "Apply on boot" to make it permanent.
How the frickety-frack did you get this to stick? I can't get Z-RAM to stick at 400mb for the life of me :(

You have to turn ZRAM off, slide it to 0MB, check and make sure it's off via "free" command in android terminal or via adb. It takes a few minutes for the system to unload ZRAM used RAM, took a couple of tries for me to get it to stick. Then quickly slide ZRAM over to 400MB in "Kernel Adiutor" and make sure "Apply on Boot" is toggled. Verify again with "free"command and it should be good for every future boot. If you flash a new rom update you might have to reapply above steps, at least it's the case on a different device I own, Moto G 1st Gen.

So I installed this onto my Volt but found LTE to not work. I did the APN file but since I am with Straight Talk there was no options for Straight Talk just Sprint so I tried those but no LTE. I finally got LTE to work since I went back to stock and found the "4G Settings" in the "More" section of settings under "mobile networks" and saw the APN the phone was provisioned with and used that and BAM, LTE works now albeit it being a bit slow to establish the connection and LTE to appear by the signal bars but otherwise LTE works now.

Addition: I also wanted to know if someone could get the latest CM 13 Nightly and release an update for the Volt based off of it.

I've been making updates in the Dev thread. I don't consider it a daily driver, but feel free to try it. http://androidforums.com/threads/ju...r-g2-mini-sources.977839/page-14#post-7336346

Just thought I'd report that I made my first attempt to build CM from scratch using up-to-date git checkouts from the repositories cited in post #2. Build went normally AFAICS and I clean flashed the resulting ROM from TWRP 3. Seems to work about the same as build from OP (green tint yes, LTE yes, NFC no, FM untested so far). Only thing I don't seem to have right is that Google Play now identifies my phone as "Unknown" which I can live with.

Has there been any updates to the CM-13 ROM for LG Volt (X5) "cm-13.0-20160425-UNOFFICIAL-x5.zip "?

Carrier: Virgin Mobile US
Also, I can't seem to find a permanent fix for the green tint on the rear facing camera. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kelso

The permanent fix is fixing the drivers yourself, swapping to a different camera that doesn't have the problem, or running something close enough to stock that its drivers work.

Drivers: No. It would have been done by now if it was that easy.

Swapping the camera is pretty easy though. Take a Volt phone with a camera that does work properly in newer ROMs, take the screws out of the back, pop the back plastic frame off the back by prying carefully at the edges, after that is off, you can pull the camera connector off and take the camera out. Reverse steps to install it.

There's updated source in the dev thread that fixes the unknown.

I have reinstalled CM-13 and GApps Mini. All applications work fine. LTE does not.
My question is.... when I go to Settings -> Cellular Networks the APN selection is missing.
I had CM13 installed previously and had the APN selection before.
I had messed up the OS to where I had to perform a fresh install.
Any ideas how I can view APN and or how I can get LTE? Trying all of the above with the *#*#4636#*#* crap does not work.

Thanks

I've had inconsistent access to the APN menu. I *think* that it shows up once the phone sees an LTE tower.

You were right. It has to see an LTE tower before it will show the APN selection under Cellular Networks.
So, somehow I have managed to manipulate the settings on the Virgin Mobile APN. I would like to put together a post that would also include the files that could be installed but I don't know how. In my APN List, I now have 13 APNs listed. i found the one for Virgin Mobile (my network) and changed a few of the settings based on this website.
I also had set the Preferred Network Type to LTE only on the *#*#4636#*#* menu.

So, how could I put together something like @ChangeOfJinzo with several screen shots, the necessary files and step by step instructions?

Hey everyone, mad props on this ROM. I used it for a bit with hardly any issues. I did have to use one of the APN fixes to get 3g data back, never got 4g working. I decided to go back to my stock rooted recovery. The only issue I'm having now is no 4g, and the 3g drops quite a bit. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what may be causing this? Any input would be much appreciated!

I do, but I'd like to learn to put something together to install through TWRP like these other awesome devs. My APN list contains more than 10 APN entries. Not 100% sure how, but whatever files are involved, I'm sure would help others. I have CONSTANT LTE access and my signal seems stronger than when I had the stock ROM installed.
If a dev could explain what files need to be extracted, any other pertinent instructions, I could get this done this weekend.

You should contact @ChangeOfJinzo, maybe he can help you out and develop it. Shoot him a pm and he'll reply. It won't hurt trying.

Hey @spock1104, I found a way to create a virtual gyroscope for our device or any device in general which is rooted. I was wondering if you could work on fixing the rotation and compass as that's what we need in order to create the virtual gyroscope. Thanks for helping develop this ROM Spock it's very appreciated.
I'm honestly not sure how to go about fixing it, I've exceeded my knowledge. It's gonna take me a long time while I get more familiar. We need more devs :-\
