So far the only good cases ive ever had for my last 2 phones (s3 and s5, s7 incoming) have been Otterbox Defenders, so idk whats out there that is comparable or better, ive got a couple of the Zizo Bolt cases coming and maybe an Otterbox Defender (no updated information on eBay since i bought it, but if it doesn't come within the next week ill get a refund); what else is good, preferably below $30 (i know that price can go far online)?

best cases for Galaxy s7?

I will advise you to make a bigger investment since you got the S7.
I pre-ordered the I-blades for my S6. It is a modular case which gives you additional attachable capabilities. I am going with the pack extra battery + memory since I own an S6 ( You know the problems) It is slim stylish and you can clip on or clip off the blades. Also you can choose a version for the S7 with an enviromental sensor (it is cheaper) or the same version as me.
I chose this over Nexpaq over the reason previously mentioned. Also you can check the Otterbox uniVerse series but they produce a version for the iPhone ATM only.
If you are into protection only go with the Defender
