Don't Plan on Rooting Android 7.0

I found the version of Color OS that was on the Oppo Find7 almost as clean as straight Google. No weird overlays.

If all phones were generic Android - carriers can and will require their own apps to run. A mfg. could do the same.
TMO has its app, but only for billing. I use Linux on the desktop for that.

If all is homogenized it will be harder to separate the chaff from the wheat. Saw this on Daily Rotation:

No thanks, Google, I'll decide who is a pest and who isn't. Let me install my own blocking software, or use my carrier's if they have any.

I guess I'm out of the loop, but I've never heard of an Android One phone. (from the linked article)
I'm guessing that's similar to the Google Play Edition phones they were doing awhile back?

They're low - mid range phones designed for "emerging markets".

Basically a way of getting a "decent" Android experience to users in places like India and other similar countries. I'm not sure if they were ever that successful though.

Yeah, Chainfire railed about that back earlier this year (March?) along with how a lot of root apps explicitly look for "su" in /system/bin or /system/xbin instead of doing it dynamically since systemless root houses the su binary in the /su partition.

He's (Chainfire) also not a big fan of busybox in general since he thinks that way too many folks install that for no good reason other than it was the thing to do in rooting methods early-on.

The beta SuperSU thread on XDA has made for some "interesting" reading but got waaaay too long/big for me to keep up with (especially with all of the posters that didn't bother to read much of it at all ;) :p).
