Root Help Installing CWM

I'm trying to install vm03's unofficial cm11 using this guide and I can't get the phone into fastboot mode, or maybe it is and I don't have the right driver? I'm on version 4.1.1.

The zips are on the real sdcard and I'm using CWM since TWRP no longer officially supports the W5 imho and JMS TWRP Manager doesn't as well.

Where I'm at is that 'adb devices' does not show my phone, and 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' just says "waiting for any device". The phone is in usb debug mode, the computer has been marked as safe with adb, and the device shows up as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port COM6 in device manager.

The phone says "firmware update" and "user b100" and "ROOTED" in red.

Is fastboot mode the same as the LG Flash Tool 2014 "download mode" uses? I've recently downgraded this phone from C to B using it, but it took three tries.

Hi, your signature indicates your phone model is LG Leon - is that right?
If that's correct, the W5 files and methods from here do not apply to this model.

BTW, TWRP is way better than CWM and it does support W5 (although unofficially) :) There's even a 3.02 version form one of the L70 devs here and it works like a charm.

Yes that's the chatroom for the Leon, my daily driver. I want to switch back to the L70 as soon as I get cm11 installed. Mainly because the Leon always runs low on space (and then runs slowly) and I can't get Link2sd working on the Leon. And if someone has link2sd working on Leon/5.x, I'd love to see a working guide.

I am so mad at these phones!

These video guides should walk you through the whole process. Still, I recommend you install TWRP - not CWM. You gonna need it if you decide to upgrade to CM12.1 or newer. Instruction are included in the thread I've linked.

If you really need space, you may also consider re-partitioning your mmc (internal memory) with Partition Table Tool . It basically increases your mmc to store 2,6 GB (CM11 - CM12.1) on the DATA partition.
My L70 is my daily driver and I'm really happy how it works. I'm on CM13 with 2,3 GB data partition (re-partitioned mmc) and with no Link2SD or whatsoever. I don't need that mamy apps, so it's enough for me.
