You will see that it has been tested and it works.

I think many people don't realize that by getting past the file signature will allow you to flash the phone just like you had twrp installed.

The problem is that to do something useful with it you need some knowledge.

The ability to create roms and flashable files.
The ability to write the updater script
The ability to troubleshoot when things go wrong.
Most of which is best done in a Linux environment.
So you need the ability to use Linux.
The ability to set up a development enviornment.

Many people can do these things but many don't know where to start.
The simple answer is READ READ READ and then READ some more.
Most of the answers are right in front of us.

As far as it goes with the Fierce 2...........I did all of that work.
I came up with this recovery that can flash any .zip file signed with our keys.
I cooked the device backups people provided and built usable flashable roms out of them.

I do believe that this work around ( Changing the recovery keys )
Will work on many devices.
It gets you full access to the phone with the use of the updater script.
The updater script don't need root access since it runs as root.

The only requirement is the ability to flash or dd copy the recovery to the phone.

The flashing procedure for the roms is in the thread you mentioned.
But the roms are all rooted.

In order to get the latest updates someone needs to send me full backups of the updated phones.
Then i will make new roms.

There is no other way.

Dont update wile rooted or you will have a brick.

I recently acquired a stylo so I've been off this thread but being that I use this as a backup phone I'm still interested in it. I downloaded the nrecovery and flashed it via flashify ...how do I know for sure if I'm on your custom recovery?

Hey @Bigcountry907

Thanks for your work. I just wanted to say that I've flashed your recovery and it's working with the message zip. I just got this phone for 10$ and it's not bricked or anything. I rooted it, calculated the SPCK for unlock, and backed up ALL the mmcblk0 partitions from the factory so please let me know if you need any of them for dev purposes.

I'd like to flash a 5.X/6.0 ROM that I KNOW will boot on this phone and install xposed, however I can't figure out how to apply the same signature used in your message.zip file. I saw that you were offering to sign the files for people, but does this mean you will not provide us with the private keys to sign our own zips?

Please provide me with the method to sign the zips and I can publish a working updated ROM running Loli/MM.

Thanks!

I know this is an old thread but was hopping someone could help me. My current Alcatel Fierce 2 (7040N) is on boot loop so i can't flash the recovery since i can't access to the OS. Also the bootloader is locked and can't access fastboot. So, how do i flash your recovery?

Also, thanks for the work.

**FIXED**
