They actually teach you to drive through the deer. If you brake it lowers the front end of the vehicle giving a better angle through the windshield.

That really depends on what the deer are driving. Most of the rural deer here have F150's. ;)

I love animals, too ... fried or barbecued. :D

"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."

I side with Bubba on this, and it's not JUST shrimp. This applies to most meat, err animals. (Most so I do not include dogs or cats - though I do not cast any shade on other cultures.) :D

Lol! We're a sociable bunch of people in the UK aren't we?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/artic...en-kind-to-the-man-behind-the-tube-chat-badge

And just to underline the generally miserable and unsociable set of grumpy gits that constitutes the British population, this idea is being criticised on social media. Honestly, I don't see the problem - if you want to chat, wear a badge. If not, don't. I think it's a great idea.
You may recall my point about groups of people generally not being welcoming?

^^^^^^Am very ambivalent.

In real life, I am painfully quiet and introverted. I suspect I would nod politely and pass by the badges.

How can I condemn that behavior in others?

On the other hand, I see the personality trait in myself as highly aberrant behavior; I dearly would like to believe mine is the exception, rather than the rule. And recognizing that it is not desirable behavior, I would do my best to find the courage to take one of the badges, participate in the exercise / contribute data to, and observe a fascinating psych experiment unfold.

I might even slip the guy 10$; He's to be lauded for going out of pocket to try and make other people's day a little better. It's just that easy.

P.S. No chance I don't brazenly steal the term "friendly introvert" for future use.:D

I've been busy... Made pear / raspberry stew, black grape / mint jelly, wild fruit jam, compote of apples from the garden, and banana with Tia Maria jam. It's autumn! Yippy!

^^^^Kaat; Over here, it's not autumn, it's fall. :p

Quite literally.

An unfortunate combination of years of drought, and three wickedly hot days earlier in the week......And the avocado trees are saying "ENOUGH!!!!!". The fruit is dropping, ready or not, like rain. Under some of the big trees, you might watch one or more fall every second, for a minute or longer.:( Avocados don't usually can or jam well.
C'mon over......Guacamole is on me.

Quite literally...... until I get an umbrella.);)

My kid married a Brit and lives there. She's found more friends than in the US.

I want to go see a Red Sox post-season game. I don't know what time they are but am assuming night. I have next week off. I have no Sox fan friends. I don't want to drive. I can take a bus. I don't mind going alone. I would probably have to stay over. That is starting to kill my budget. I still want to go. UGH.

You should go. I went to game 7 of the 2014 World Series here in KC we lost but still time of my life. Also went to a home Playoff game in 2015 (Oct 9th against the Astros - we won this one) also a stand out moment in my life. Playoffs baseball is an amazing electric atmosphere - at least here in KC - so I highly recommend it. :D
