Help Newest metropcs / tmobile 6.0 kdz firmware

Good,
Glad it worked out for you.
I do have an observation I'd share, version 20 b , although it has the advance messaging option,
in texting it has the worst battery life of any of the firmwares I've tested. This maybe why it doesn't appear to be in version 20c. The kdz of ver c method does provide a cleaner, stable install then any updates by far. I have done both ways since I am a flash junky.
cheers

i didnt use an untrustworthy source for the kdz. i used the 20b kdz that i got a while back from the same website that you posted in the op because the link to the 20c kdz that you posted above does not download (and i had no intention of downloading it from what seemed to be a sketchy site). i was able to fix the issue i was having by doing a factory reset...then i rooted again and all of a sudden playstore started working normally
How did you root the version 20c?? Im on that version but cant root it so far =(

@Ferb

Unlocking the Bootloader with adb is a must.
I used the all in one tool that @eversleyd shared.
I had to add chainfires 2.72 (systemless) superuser.
I also had to add the OG recovery Img since I have the first version firmware.
you can manually do all this with adb.
send me a p/m and I can share the one for your phone since I did it for both hardwares
if you need more help with it.

Just a heads up the latest 2.76 Systemless SuperSu works as well.
Trial and error i tried system root with SuperSu and it was a no go it would just hang at the bootloader.
I did do this though used the systemless SuperSu first flashing in TWRP then flashing the System SuperSu and phone is fine boots normal and also gets rid of TWRP saying do you want to install SuperSu thats the main reason why i flashed the system version after the systemless.

Yep. 20c is better battery life. No more advanced messaging.

ugh i have the ota notification now...i dont want to set my phone up all over again :(

YRMV

With both recent updates for Metro (C and G) I have updated via the KDZ route and chosen Update option on the LGUpdate Tool.

Both times I lost root only. I rooted via adb/fastboot and no issues.

All data and apps were still present after the upgrade just had to reroot.

Again YRMV so follow viperdinks guidance and obtain a nandroid before proceeding.

Good luck!
