Wow lol... I've found that phones bigger than 5" in display size hurt to use, guess I don't have the thumbs for it maybe? I keep longer thumbnails for cracking phone cases open, and they work well with a small BlackBerry keyboard, felt nice typing away on the old BB, like I never left it ;)

Another reason for switching to smaller device is that I've lost nearly 90 lbs over the last year, and a ZMax with folio case doesn't really fit in my pockets anymore. I have to wear Dickies for my job.

But hey, just wait.... I'm sure somebody will put out a 6.5" smartphone soon enough. I tried holding my Nexus 7 to the side of my face, it feels almost as ridiculous as it looks :D :D I can guarantee you that I will never buy anything bigger than a ZMax lol
Congrats on the 90 lbs. I need to lose about half of that immediately.

Congrats on the weight loss; hopefully it was intended and not because you had health problems

I know what you mean. I could stand to lose around 60 or so.

I don't use data very much so I couldn't justify the increase in getting the $50 plan.

Hopefully someone takes advantage of it in this forum
Count me in the opposite camp - I need lots of Internet all the time :)

I was just reflecting the other day how times have changed (I grew up before even typewriters became widespread - when it was considered rude or too impersonal to type rather than pen a memo / letter) in unimaginable ways.

It's incredible how Metro PCS has become more reliable and necessary than any ISP or Hotspot Provider... to me- I realize this may not apply to others. I'm in NYC, on the road often + seldom at home even when in town.

I remember signing up 2-3 years ago for that $50 Unlimited and my wife commenting it was an unnecessary waste. It was, seemingly - speeds/caps/tethering weren't @ today's levels + a slew of companies / isp's / City agencies offered free WiFi...
but just about any non-Google public Hotspot is fairly useless.
Starting with Boingo / Time Warner / Verizon / Cablevision, can you find a signal - let alone a good one.
Airports/stations/parks/plazas/food joints:
signal not in entire area / slow speeds / some sites blacklisted / connection bounces every 30 minutes / cumbersome log in w/ forced video watching & captcha filling
And not all a chain's restaurants are individually happy at having to provide wifi- quite a few disable the outlets & shut off the router.

In short, Metro data saves my bacon almost every day - even to update my laptops / tablets is so much faster - and
not even a year ago I would've agreed with this.
It's mainly why I'm hoping the 600 band auctions & rollout speed along... And that in the intervening time bandwidth doesn't get too abused by unlimited tether - the freedom to not having to be anchored somewhere is just priceless.

My Metropcs page Now shows that I am on a $60/m "promotion plan that is no longer available" and shows a NEW $60/m plan....as my original stated no 4g/lte cap...when I first switched to MPCS...and using PdaNet...the support even suggested I should use the USB connection to stop the drops using wifi...everything was fine for almost a year..I got my notice in September abut the NEW throttling rules. Since the FCC fine tethering at full speed has returned but PDANET usb is locked to 128k I have reinstalled al versions going back to 4.17 and it still sticks to 128k while the metro tether (hotspot update) runs at full speed. My usage problem was with Syned apps such as Facebook Google drive and those that backed up photos and music..they were backing up the phone storage whenever I was on those sites while using pdanet. I removed the apps that I found to be syncing as well as set the background apps to "NONE" and my usage dropped by half. Peace OT

I forgot to add that I had added $45 ($5/gig) of hotspot top-up prior to the FCC fine...I am looking at Cricket as they are offering a NEW $70/m Unlimited plan that looks like the real deal as well as I can bring my phone and number
Did you try standalone Foxfi?
On a practical basis, not sure what Cricket will give you that Metro doesn't.
FYI AT&T caps Cricket at 8mb speed wise. And good luck during peak times.

FYI you haven't lost that plan, if that's what you meant...you're grandfathered in ...just like i am with the older $50 Unlimited.

Noticing a LOT of deprioritizing ALL OF A SUDDEN.

Received USAGE warning(FIRST EVER) at 28gb, once I reached 30 everything has been glacial... surfing, email... YouTube 480p n Spectrum TV stutter n freeze.

Cleaning n rebooting not the answer.
I'm in NYC - and no matter which borough, even across the river into New Jersey- this persists.

I'm on the grandfathered $50 Unlimited (which doesn't permit non - Metro phones). So, IF this is permanent, then teltik.com becomes the go to carrier:
cheaper monthly, more Hotspot, byod doesn't raise price, Tmo Tuesday eligible, ditto International features, etc.

Zte Blade Z Max coming to Metro this Monday.... Headed to store later, fairly sure they arrive maybe as early as yesterday.
You have to presign now in order to get promo $25 Google credit.

Looks like the X Max at Cricket?

3 slight improvements over Zmax Pro... slight step up in battery, fast charge, resolution and OS. And probably the same software bugs and no rootability.
I'ma take a chance, since I've broken last two phones and this one will only cost $129.

Gonna get one as a holdover until something over 6" hopefully comes to Metro. I have a feeling neither Note or L G V30 will come... much less something like upcoming Xiaomi Mi.

I'm on hold re new purchases until they make phones that can utilize all the newest TMO bands and network tweaks.
Whether flagship or cheap, there're only like 3 models that can utilize everything available [from band aggregations to LAA to Bands 600&700], S8 being perfect example (of not having) ...
Hopefully we don't see a bunch of small, underpowered phones that nobody wants supporting the new added speed and bandwidth.
And forget any international phone as an option...
