I have been looking at new phones, cant really justify 5 to 700 for a brand new phone so i have been looking at a mint droid turbo 2 on swappa. My question, is it worth switching from a droid turbo to a turbo 2. The main reason is my phone is starting to get laggy and the battery isnt even lasting a day anymore. Or should i just start looking at newer devices?

- How important are OS updates?
- Are you ok buying another phone next year, or do you want this to last longer than a year? (Presumably a two year old Turbo 2 next year will have similar battery and lag issues that a two year old Turbo has now.)
- Are you definitely staying on Verizon or would you consider a move to a different carrier?
- How important is the camera?
- Which size phone do you prefer, or is there a size that is too big or too small?
- How much are you willing to spend?
- Is there a minimal amount of storage that you need on the phone?

One intriguing possibility: The Moto G4 from Amazon, which works on Verizon. $160 for 16 GB, $180 for 32 GB. Has lock screen ads for that price.

It is on Marshmallow now, and Motorola is I believe testing Nougat right now for the G4.
I'm not sure about that battery, but it does have fast charging.
It is a mid-range device, or even a budget device, so specs are not top of the line, but based on the review, the performance looks decent.
Remember: when you had a 2 year contract phone, Verizon added $20 per month to the cost of your monthly service. When your phone comes off contract, they reduce the price of your service by $20 (for all but unlimited stragglers.) If you have a plan with limited data, you were paying $200 plus $480 over those 24 months. So, if you get a Moto Z with a $200 trade in for your Turbo, you may be paying less than that over the next24 months if you do a 24 month installment.
(If you are unlimited, of course, no such luck.)

True. I have looked at that phone before. I really like the battery the turbo offers though, back when new i could do a day to two days. I like having a phone that will last all day so i don't have to worry about my battery all day

I think you could get the Turbo
2 for $22 mo for 24 mo from Verizon...or $528 retail..
That said I traded in a Droid Max on this Turbo 2 mid contract on the Edge plan last year..all I can say it's been a great upgrade ..it's fast, 32gig memory, and a camera that's not bad at all
(Especially after I learned all its features and how to use them properly, lol)
Batt goes almost 2 days on a single charge and I really like the shatterproof screen.
If the Turbo 2 meets (excells actually) your needs I'd go for it..

On your Turbo ... did you Wipe Cache Partition deleting temporary files and not touching permanent files, installed apps, or settings. This solves close to all performance problems.
As noted ... when buying a phone the first question to answer is when do you plan to replace the phone you are about to buy?
Turbo 2 is now on 6.0.1 and has an excellent camera. I now use that camera for production images.
How are you going to maintain the phone you are getting form a third party?
If you want a maximum life then consider the Moto Z Force. Very expensive. A year newer than the Turbo 2.
