Root Roms For The Fierce 2

can someone give me the steps to root this I was looking on the other thread but I didn't any clear instructions

Ok first of all make sure you have a back up......next go to security in the settings menu and click on Allow Unknown Sources, then open your INTERNET browser (do not use chrome or it won't work) type in the url "www.kingroot.net" scroll to the bottom of the page and click try it, also before you do this make sure your phone is at least thirty percent charged and set to never sleep. So after you download it use an apk installer to open it then enjoy your root, also if your not fond of Kingroot you can always xfer your super user status to SuperSU by downloading the apk "SuperSUME" it totally replaces kingroot with super su I suggest you stick with Kingroot for a while if your needing help, SuperSU might allow you to brick or something, believe me it's a pretty easy thing to do. good luck bud

Hey guys, can this help our brick phone?

http://androiding.how/dirty-cow-root-android/

I also saw people have those number codes for alcatel. Can you fix with number codes?

Ugh this phone is a pain in my arse. I am sure alcatel will fix this if I contact them and if they reply after a month (LOL), but I don't want to pay shipping fee to return this good for nothing phone and company.

I just want to unbrick this phone already without the help of alcatel... oh wait.... they really are NO help! At ALL!!!

I can go to recovery mode. Is it not a running android?

No, not "normal" Android...

A recovery (stock or custom) is running a Linux kernel, but there's a limited UI available to you.

If you've got a stock recovery, then you don't have much say in what you can run outside of the stock recovery options.

If you've got a custom recovery, then you don't need dirtycow since you would already have (or have the potential to have) root access.

I got a htc service tool thats good for qualcomm chips.
I havent tried it on my bricked alcatel it might help but i doubt it.

I'v been getting ready to build some service roms.
They get flashed with qpst and if built properly will certinly unbrick the phone.

Right now i'm working on some other devices that I have multiples of.
After I get the bugs all worked out I will see if I can cook up something to unbrick theese.

If I had a running device I could probably unlock the bootloader with the service tool.
Anyway it's going to be a wile.
I'm not a well know dev so other devs don't help me out much.

Finding the needed files and getting a device tree that will compile can be very time consuming.

Can anyone tell me if you have successfully flashed the rom that big country has posted? And also if the new rom has the same bug the fierce 2 originally had where if you rotate the screen while using an app like Google chrome and you slide down quick settings and when you rotate back to vertical the quick settings icon is missing?

You have to be careful flashing the roms. Flash the recovery for sure but keep the roms for if you really need them. They are stock and only meant to fix up a bricked phone. But they can only repair the brick if you installed the recovery before you caused the brick.

I have a jtag box coming today and it should be able to unbrick the device.
The androidbrick method would work if we could get the files.

Honestly the chip used in this phone is rare. Seems like they only made a few. Had alot of problems.
If I can find the files I could make a unbrick package.

The chipset is Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212
And was quickly replaced by the MSM8909 snapdragon 210

I cant find much for Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212
I assume they were junk chips with many problems. They sure werent on the market long.

Dump the one touch fierce 2 and get a htc desire 626s.
MSM8909 snapdragon 210
Cheap easy to unlock and root. Allmost no chance of perm brick at all.

But if I ever come across the 8212 sources I'll let you guys know.

Nice to see you are still checking this thread. Someone on another thread posted this:

Sorry I've been busy. I can't believe you guys are still stuck . Deploy Linux to write to system. Do not run it out of the SD card. Do not run it with the SD card used as internal storage.

It is for another phone but can you know what he means? I don't use Linux but I kinda understand what he meant. I just don't know how to ACTUALLY do it. Since well, I don't use Linux I know you do though.

Yes a full backup would be great.
But I need 2 different types.

1 backup using onandroid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=162025

1 backup using this script.
Execute each command.
The files will be on the external sdcard in / bak directory
you need at least a 8gb sd card

adb shell "su -c 'mkdir /storage/sdcard0/bak'"
adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/storage/sdcard0/bak/modem.mbn'"
adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/storage/sdcard0/bak/sbl1.img'"
adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 of=/storage/sdcard0/bak/sdi.img'"

adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p28 of=/storage/sdcard0/bak/system.img'"

hi. If I do this on my brick phone what's next? I can go to adb shell. I know now how. but can I do anything with it?

The 7040T firmware might be posted in this thread somewhere.
If not then I need to build it.

For all of you that have a BRICK.
The qdl9008 mode is the EDL mode. Emergency Download Mode.

Most likely if you could find all the files you need to do it, you could build an unbrick rom.
It is not the easiest thing to do.
Phones have come so far along now that I moved on to other devices.

Anyway this is a fairly complex process.
But if you want to know step by step how to do it.
Read my step by step instructions here.

And yes. You can use my Partition.xml Generator Spreadsheet to create the partition.xml
Read the thread to see. Dont Skip Anything. Read it all.

7040 N ROM ONLY FOR 7040N NOT 70407 YES 7040N.

THIS ONLY WORKS WITH THE PREVIOUSLY POSTED RECOVERY FLASHED BEFORE YOU FRIED YOUR PHONE.

Ok boys and girls we are ready for liftoff. I just spent the last 9 hrs puttin this together,

FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS IN ORDER.
DON'T CHANGE THE ORDER.
DON'T RE-BOOT THE PHONE UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE STEPS.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT REBOOT IN-BETWEEN FLASHES.
ABSOLUTELY WIPE DATA FACTOR RESET AFTER EACH FLASH.
THERE ARE 4 FLASHES TOTAL.
PAY ATTENTION !!!!!!

First download all of thees files and copy them to.
c:\android\sdk\platform-tools.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtSHpJY2xuZzZ0QUU/view?usp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtT3hCbmNydHRCZ28/view?usp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtM3d0ZU50SjZEZ2s/view?usp=sharing
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtVlBsMlJnVDYyRFE/view?usp=sharing

#1 If your running windows install java jdk. IF YOU HAVENT YET.
#2 If you are running windows install android sdk. IF YOU HAVENT YET.
#3 Install the driver for sideload to alcatel. IF YOU HAVENT YET.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8jitdIyh2NtVlN2NEdnRWJTbTg/view?usp=sharing

#4 Open ADB in command window.
command window will show path c:\android\sdk\platform-tools.

#5 Reboot the phone into recovery mode.
A) To do that turn off the phone.
B) hold volume down and power at the same time.

#6 Connect the phone to the computer

#7 select update from ADB in the recovery on the phone

#7 in command window type adb devices
A) if you see sideload and some numbers you are ready to flash.
B) if you dont see the above then fix your android sdk install or reload the driver right.
B-1) Alternately if you do this in UBUNTU it is easier. NO DRIVERS NEEDED.

#8 Type
adb sideload n-clean-flash1.zip

Watch the phone screen for any errors.
If you see INSTALL COMPLETE move to the next step.
SELECT WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE.

SELECT UPDATE FROM ADB IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE

#9 Type
adb sideload n-data-flash2.zip

Watch the phone screen for any errors.
If you see INSTALL COMPLETE move to the next step.
SELECT WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE.

SELECT UPDATE FROM ADB IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE

#10 Type
adb sideload n-custpack-flash3.zip
Watch the phone screen for any errors.
If you see INSTALL COMPLETE move to the next step.
SELECT WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE.

SELECT UPDATE FROM ADB IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE

#11 Type
adb sideload n-system-flash4.zip

Watch the phone screen for any errors.
If you see INSTALL COMPLETE move to the next step.
SELECT WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET IN THE RECOVERY ON THE PHONE.

YOU CAN NOW REBOOT THE PHONE.
GIVE IT 10 TO 15 MIN TO LOAD UP THE FIRST TIME.

ONE OF 2 THINGS WILL HAPPEN.

A) YOUR PHONE WILL BOOT UP NORMALLY IF ALL WENT OK.

B) YOUR PHONE WILL BOOT INTO THE RECOVERY IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG.

Either way its all good. If it boots to recovery we will figure out what went wrong and flash it again.

Have fun and please say thanks. I am the only one in the world that has fixed thees phones. I put months worth of work into this.

AND ALLWAYS SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES HERE.

BigCountry907 :):):)
Don´t work for me
error signature failure into recovery

Hello Bigcountry907!
friend brought the phone Fierce 2 7040N. The phone has one defect, when trying to update the playmarket program, it hangs and does not move forward. I assume that some important file was deleted from the system, since the system was rooted.

tell me the easiest way to do. You posted a lot of firmware, but I'm not sure which one to choose.
thank
