Help MMS pictures not downloading

i have had the problem of the mms messages not downloading, now i tried everything everyone put on here and it didnt work and i dont wanna take back my phone for a new one, ive had my droid incredible 2 for less then a month and there is this problem, it is not a phone problem because a long time ago in the dumbphone time like in 2007 i had these same problems and it was never resolved, so i stopped having ppl send pictures to my phone and send directly to my email wich is way easier to use, so if i have anything to say its that yeah the problem is shitty and pisses ppl off but calm down use ure email, and if you dont know how then you shouldnt have any technology, so all in all it sucks but do you really need picture messaging really...!!!

Just curious: did you call Verizon to see if they could reset something on your account?

This is the forum for the Droid Eris, by the way. Perhaps the Droid Incredible 2 forums will have better solutions for that phone?

Okay so I think I figured it out. If you go into message settings under mms. There's like auto-retrieve if you turn it off and click download the message should retrieve. It always works for me. I hope this helps y'all. Once you've received your message then you can turn auto retrieve back on and everything will be like normal.:)
Thankyou, this worked for me after trying loads of other suggestions. I have a Samsung galaxy S2.

alright everybody i have a few simple questions. does it seem to work in different areas than others? how about different times of the day or night? i figured out why mine was doing it in the very least. my phone had trouble sending mms during late hours due to the satalite being out of range. all you have to do is go to a window, dial star 228 or pound 228 i forget which one, than i also do suggest handcent as others have said, and see if that works for you. the 228 will update your roaming and service area (make you go off of a different satalite for the time being) preferably a closer one, however if it sends you into roaming mode and you dont have roaming on your plan it might be pricey. good luck, let me know if this works for you

Problem Solved
I've had the same 'MMS download fail' problem with text messages with my AT&T SGH-I537 Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Checked Mobile data, and APN settings to no avail. Went to customer technical support and the individual, Kenneth, in Kentucky solved my problem. He successfully sent me an MMS (data) test message of a picture of a colorful hot air balloon. Asking what he did, he said he un-registered my device and registered it again in their system.

I did a forum search and saw this question asked but didn't see any answers so I'm posting this again hoping someone can help with this most frustrating problem I'm having with MMS.

At least 60% of the time when someone sends me a picture message I will get the option to download the picture. When I click "download" the box turns to grey text that says "downloading" but it never downloads, just goes back to the download button. Sometimes I will get a message in my notifications panel saying "Message not downloaded". This happens in both the stock messages program as well as Handcent.

Does anyone else have this problem and a suggestion on how to fix it? This is a huge issue for me.

Thanks in advance.
I started having this exact same problem some months ago and I've been very frustrated and trying to find out what the issue is I'm not sure I know the exact answer however I wonder if it's not your phone that's the problem but the senders phone I've been trying to see what is in common with senders when this happens to me and I think it's iPhone users only I have read on some forums that Apple has a problem with a messenger service in this regard and that there is a class action lawsuit pending when this MMS download issue happens to you ask the sender if they're using an iPhone

I solved this problem by changing my APN settings. When the customer service tech walked me through entering the APN they failed to mention anything about the MMSC or APN Type, and they were left blank. So I went a couple weeks without MMS texts downloading. After some troubleshooting, I figured out that I needed to enter my carrier's information under MMSC in the APN settings.

On my phone, APN settings can be accessed through Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Access Point Names. After filling out the "MMSC" information, as well as "APN Type" (which I found by Googling carrier name + APN), it works perfectly.

I hope this helps anyone having this problem.

I had the same problem with my Galaxy 7 on the AT&T network. Went into the store, they did a hard reset (power button and lower volume key). Since my phone is solid state, it's the same as taking the battery out and reinserting. That solved the problem for a couple of weeks but it happened again today. I did the hard reset but I think it's something else. The hard reset did fix it again, however.
