Is there any way in the new UI to search for new posts from watched sections?
I haven't seen a link to a dedicated page, but near the bottom of the main page you can sort to show Favorites. Only has about 20 threads.

I don't know if it just shows threads from your favorite forums or also includes individual threads you're watching.

That one is a little different. That shows the 20 or so most recently updated threads in your favourite sections, so anything over that is lost. Also, it still shows stuff that you've read.

If you try out the link I gave, it shows all threads with unread posts (no limit to 20 results), regardless of how old they are.

You used to be able to access it by opening the 'My Forums' dropdown (see below) and clicking the top link (I think it said 'Unread Posts').

Is this what you are looking for ...

Your link is just to a set of search results, so I can't tell what you actually searched. If you want to share a search strategy you have to get the URL you click, not the URL of the page it takes you to.

Your link is the one needed. :thumbsupdroid: My point was the sorting option on the main page is the closest thing to it that the current setup has. Like you I haven't seen that option available. :(

I'm assuming @Thom meant to paste this URL (without the search number):
http://androidforums.com/find-new/posts/

That's the old new posts link but includes everything, not just watched content which you want.

I'm curious about the resolution of the monitor you're viewing on. Mine's 1920x1080 and nothing looks cramped. Granted if I zoom to 125% in Chrome, then it starts to look a bit cramped

1600x900

The resolution doesn't seem to be the problem, to me at least. It's more because of the links that are festooning either side.

How do I create a new thread? I was in the LG volt forum, pressed create a new thread, typed it up and pressed create thread. Then I noticed that it creates the thread under Android devices and not under LG volt, so I thought I must've been on the home page and not in the volt section, so I edited the post to say deleted and tried again, this time making sure I was in the volt section, and the same thing happened. How do I get it moved to the right section and how am I supposed to be doing this in the future?
Can a mod please move it (to the right LG volt forum)?
Edit: http://androidforums.com/threads/use-the-volt-as-a-battery-pack.1121160/ should be in http://androidforums.com/devices/lg-volt.2766/

Watched Threads link:
http://androidforums.com/watched/threads/
How to get it:
1) Click My Stuff. 2) Click Watched Threads near right of page.

Advanced Search link:
http://androidforums.com/search/?searchform=1
How to get it:
1) Perform a quick search. 2) Click Search Again near right of page.
1) Click My Stuff. 2) Click Search Again near right of page.
  • Old site allowed you to access both the above with only one click from any page.

Favorited Forums new posts link:
http://androidforums.com/find-new/posts?watched=1
How to get it:
No link known yet in current UI.

New Posts link:

  • Sorting options near bottom of main page kind of do the two above but with limitations.

Are some channels not associated with the original subforums?

This post is assigned to the Verizon channel, but it's not showing up in the Verizon forum.

This post is assigned to MetroPCS, but not in the Metro forum.

They also have different URLs:
MetroPCS forum: http://androidforums.com/forums/metro-pcs.282/
MetroPCS channel: http://androidforums.com/carriers/metropcs.1228/
Verizon forum: http://androidforums.com/forums/verizon.95/
Verizon channel: http://androidforums.com/carriers/verizon-wireless.1177/
Verizon channel #2: http://androidforums.com/carriers/verizon-wireless.4256/

when I moved it there were two LG Volt channels listed in the drop down.
How did you move posts to a specific device channel? In a browser the only options in the drop down menu are:
  • Android Devices
  • Android Carriers
  • Android Manufacturers
If I move a post to Android Devices it's not associated to any phone and I don't see any options to assign one. Carriers and Manufacturers are still listed lower down, but not phones. Or is it currently only possible in the app?

I still can't use the app as I built my phone from several different pieces and is not recognized. Kind of a Frankenphone.
These guys need to remove the Google & device ID stuff. Not cool, not necessary.. Plz fix. The website is getting more functional, props! Fix that apk tho, Lmao

16. Toggle Left Panel

The left panel always seemed like a waste of space. A button that resulted in a drop down would be a better choice IMNHO.

I just found that the three lines to the left of the title toggle it on and off. Great I can toggle it off.

The problem is that if I have it toggled off and go to a different page it is toggled on on that page.

If this is going to remain as the design then this should be a global option as opposed to a local page option.

An alternative would be to have it default to not displaying the panel and if you hit the three bar button the panel would be displayed.

Has the question of how to "mark forums read" on the New AndroidForums been answered?
The only place I've seen that option is on the new posts page. But right now that page is only accessible if you have it bookmarked.

how does the forum decide which posts to present to me as being New?
If a thread has a new post since the last time you read it, or you've never viewed a thread it will show as new.
