Help Samsung Galaxy S6 - Network Connection Error?

Hi Everyone,

Hope someone can help me out!

My Samsung Galaxy S6 (approx 2 years old) suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago - unable to connect to my network (vodafone), make or receive calls or text messages - I can basically only use the phone when it is connected to wifi.

I tried the usual (restart, taken the sim out etc) and have since brought the phone to Vodafone, they checked the sim and said it was fine and that the issue was with the phone itself.

Took it to Samsung and they are unable to look into it as the phone is AT&T model and I have relocated to Australia (since last September the phone was previously unlocked and worked perfectly up until now).

They did mention this could either be an issue with the sim reader or AT&T may have done an update which has made the phone incompatible with Australian networks but I am not convinced as the phone is connecting to the network intermittently throughout the day. This in turn is draining my battery, would prefer to fix the issue rather than buy a new phone, anyone have any similar issues?

Thanks!
Hannah

Try doing network operators in the settings. Is the phone finding any carrier networks at all? If it isn't, then that's very likely a problem with the phone.

Thanks for the reply! It is finding a few networks no problem but when I select Vodafone it goes ahead as normal but am still unable to make calls, it's alternating between 'emergency calls only' and 'no network connection' I have tried everything I am going to do a factory reset and pray it works!

That sounds like it could be IMEI blacklisted, can find networks but it's doing emergency calls only or no service. Was the AT&T contract that phone was originally on completed, ended properly, or an early termination fee (ETF) paid?

The factory reset didn't work :-( I'm not too sure as far as I am aware the phone was purchased on eBay in Ireland my brother owned the phone but gave it to me unlocked to take to Australia so I'm not sure about the AT&T side as he was an Irish network and I am now on Vodafone Oz think it may be time to buy a new phone unfortunately :-( thanks so much for taking the time to reply!
