I keep contacts and calendar on my PC via my Live account. I like having these things available to me on my PC desktop, laptop and tablets. The problem is I have an Android phone but don't use the Google world for ANYthing. This is what I'd like to accomplish with Outlook on Android, is it possible?
- Have contacts on my Live account be the same on my phone, use them for texting and in the contacts list, and having them syncable and editable on my Android phone so that changes appear on my PC devices.
- Have the same effect with calendar
- I don't use Live for email I have a private server, so that part of it is irrelevant to me.

As an add-on Outlook for Android question, does anyone happen to know if you can set the imap path prefix in the app for your imap accounts?

Thank you!!

I don't blame you! I'm inching away from Google myself: but since Android is a Google product, it requires a Gmail address for account management. Their product, their rules. Even if you use that account for nothing other than the phone and its apps, it's necessary.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I understand that the google account is necessary for basic operation of the phone but I just don't use it for anything else and coming from Windows Phone, the only thing I miss is having my calendar and contacts editable ANYwhere and having them sync up. I heard the Outlook app could do that which is why I'm asking.
