I tried to email Huawei through their website form, but it's so infuriating that I gave up - all that stuff I filled out and if you screw up on the teeny tiny little Captcha, it wipes the whole form and you have to start all over. Ain't happenin'! Then I tried to call them and after a bewildering array of options in a variety of languages, it jus hung up. So I'm relying on you guys at this point.

Will the Huawei Watch get Android Wear 2.0? If so, when?

I contacted Huawei support on this. I was told by Huawei CS that the Huatch already has Android Wear 2.0. Surprise to me! I took a screenshot of my watch's software version (which is still 1.5.something). Android Wear is 2.0, but not the watch! Well, CS backpedaled in a hurry and stated that 2.0 is rolling out, but in stages. So check your watches, folks... it could literally happen at any time.

I haven't seen anyone report having received an AW2 update on any watch yet. I don't think the rollout has started for any manufacturer yet. I did see Fossil tweet today that they intend to update their watches in mid-March; I kind of expect most manufacturers to roughly follow that timeline as well.

I got impatient/frustrated after spending two days on 1.5 and loaded up the latest AW2 preview. It has since received updates to several Google apps that improve the experience significantly. :)

You have a link to get the firmware and install instructions?

What do you use your Huatch For?

Everything. Mainly, it's a dashboard for info and lets me keep my phone in my pocket for the 95% of alerts and notifications that don't need to be dealt with in the moment.

^ This. Notifications on my wrist are pretty handy - particularly when I can respond to many of them without pulling out my phone. (The gesture keyboard on AW2 works surprisingly well for text input!)

I love having music/video playback controls on my wrist as well.

I also use Google Assistant for easy web searches ("Do I need a jacket today?", "What time is it in Alaska?", "When is MWC?") as well as for controlling different devices in my home ("Set the AC to 71," "Turn off the lights", "Secure the perimeter"). AW2's Assistant is really quite handy!

And it's just fun to switch watchfaces on a regular basis. :)

According to this report, AW 2.0 is rolling out to the Huatch right now!

I checked mine today and I got that frustrating green screen "Your system is up to date." It's teasing me. I know it.
Unfortunately that turned out to be a dev-keys build sent to testers. I guess Taylor didn't get removed from the testing roster before he left Huawei.

We mortals are still waiting for the rollout to begin - but it sounds like that should happen before the end of the month.

    *fingers crossed*
