Unfortunately rooting does void the warranty on most phones. I was scared to root because of that too, but if for any reason something happens and you need a replacement, you can always unroot it and factory reset and the company usually won't be able to see if you rooted it
When my phone got messed up they didn't even check and just gave me a new one, but yeah that wouldn't usually be a problem.
