Default Mobile Hotspot app

Hello,

I found some helpful info throughout the internet and other links. But Can anyone tell me how to reinstall my factory mobile hotspot app on the Razr? I dont have any good excuses. I found out how to exercise my God given right of removing bloatware and got a little out of hand. I now use Titanium backup...but I do not have this program backed up. If anyone can tell me how to get this app / apk etc please help. I looked in the market, I tried loading Mynet.apk I tried typing a bunch of stuff in the terminal emulator after adding it etc. Is there a simple way to drop the file into the place where it was uninstalled? Thank you for your time and help everyone.

Watch it bud when removing from your system. You may prevent the system upgrade when its time

Thanks guys I appreciate the reply and the help! I will try to install this now.

I just tried and it said on one attempt "There is a problem parsing the package"

and the second attempt it said it couldnt because it was a read only file.

Is there any hope or do I need to do a factory reset?

1. Factory reset will not help.

2. Put the apk and odex files in the \system\app folder and change permissions to the same as all files in that folder. I cannot tell you what those permissions are exactly as I lost root and am waiting to re-root in a couple of days.

I really appreciate you helping me with this. I finally got actual internet so I can do a little more. I do not understand how to change file permissions, do you know of a good link with this info so I can research it a little more?

I use Root Explorer. Once you copy the file over to \system\app, long press on it and choose permissions, that will let you set permissions. To know what permissions need to be set, first long press on any other file in \system\app and choose permissions and see what it shows. Apply the same permission on the tether.apk

Quick question, will this APK work on just the Razr or is it a stock app that will work on any Motorola phone? Reason I ask is a buddy had the same issue with his Droix X. He asked me if he could re-install the stock mobile hotspot app. I looked on his phone and he never made a back up of the stock rooted rom before he changed ROMS. I didn't have time to do any type extensive search to find a replacement, I tried the regular tehter app most use but his X-Box wouldn't connect to it for some reason. everything else does though. He said it connected to the Mobile Hotspot app fine though.
