I would always recommend you unroot first as it may cause some firmware issues with the update.

When they had the last update for GB I never could get the update to install on mine. I had to wipe my phone, install the factory recovery, download the updates the re-root. I am wondering if I am going to have the same problem with this one. I to have the Voodoo unroot installed, it didn't work the last time. Wonder if it will this time.

I would venture a guess that you have to remove the su binary first, but what do I know

I know unrooted using droid razr utility and put a fresh install of .181 on and now I can't get the phone to download the ota. It just says device is up to date and I was downloading it at will yesterday and today before I unrooted.

Here too.
With my phone rooted, downloaded the OTA 3 times and each time it failed. Now unrooted and factory reset, no updates available. Weird.

What have you done since being rooted?

Give it a week or so, the update should be available to pull by then. Or use the latest Matt's utility to install it.

I did a search on that and a lot of people were having problems doing it that way

Im guessing that you guys got prompted for the update early because you signed up for the soak test. You should hopefully be prompted again when everyone else is.

Perhaps having a custom recovery is what prevented the update from going through or you deleted some bloatware?

That prevents some OTA's on other devices that have that modification! Well known issue on other devices. Great tip.

I had to use matt's utl. to flash stock and then unroot it to work. No matter what I tried I could not get it to update until I went all stock and then updated it. I know I froze some bloat, and uninstalled some, but restored it all, or so I thought, But I guess it did not like what I had done.
Best this is there are many people out there way smarter out there than I am, and they like to write things down for me to follow :-)
Good luck@
