Default Uninstalling Poot & Ministro?

Hello all, Just rooted with no issues. (followed post #33)

Question is, can I now uninstall 'poot' and 'ministro' without any worries? any side affects?

Yeah, it works great. I have about 3.5 gb of apps installed onto my phone thanks to Link2SD. You just have to know how to partition your SD card.

Did you watch mistichunter's video? Getting an error message is part of the process -- poot was written for a different phone. You should be able to download superuser from the market to finish rooting manually.

See posts #22 and #33 above.

Thanks, I actually answered my own questions.. I uninstalled ministro and poot.. nothing broke.. then I got my 32gb card in last night so I formatted it and everything is working great with Link2SD. Seems like performance is down a bit, but I suppose that's to be expected having apps linked to the SD..

I just upgraded from a Optimus V, so I'm really enjoying the size, weight, speed of this phone. Thanks everyone.

Some of you folks are probably rooted and you just don't know it.
Get poot and ministrone, whatever.
Install both. Run poot. Button at the top. Poot now.
Poot uses ministrone, whatever. Ministrone will update the Lib files poot needs to run the exploit.
Poot will say start exploit yadayadayada, some daemon has materialized, yadayadayada, would you like to play again. Something like that.
Close poot.
Get su from GPLAY. NOT SUPERSU.
Get some root checker or your fav root app.
Run su, when Su interface comes up swipe right one time, under INFO, YOU'LL see a string of RED numbers and letters. Click on update. The string will turn green, su will say some stuff like "that was fun wanna do it again? Close su.
Run your root checker, or your fav root app.
When su pops up, click ALLOW, and carry on wit yo bad selves.
From before you left poot, you were rooted. You just weren't super user, like you are now.

Wow! I have to say that this was probably the most painless rooting that I've ever done. Thanks!!

(Although that demon error telling me to reboot in Poot was kind of scary!)

I just want to be 100% sure before I root. If I just leave the ROM the same and simply root without doing anything else, will I be able to reset to factory default the normal way a few months down the line in case something unrelated happens or my phone just needs to be refreshed? I only ask because, after rooting the Optimus V, doing a factory reset in the Settings menu would cause a brick. Thanks!

Default Phone stuck in boot loop

I just tried to root mine, I used the Optimus Elite root with an apk like others did. After I hit the "poot" button I got a permissions error and a few minutes later my phone rebooted and now it's stuck in a boot loop. It's blank, shows the Samsung logo, blank, shows samsung logo, etc... help?!

Thanks.

I left the battery out for five minutes then the phone booted when I put it back in. ::whew::

So, back to rooting. When I push "press here to poot" this is the error I get. Any ideas?

A demon materialized while pooting. Error code: 18

I don't think this method works at all with the JB update. Check the dates! But the Welcome to Jelly Bean thread has a method that works fine. - sheureka

No, this method is old and won't work on new Reverbs.
However, there are new methods now. Check recent threads

Welcome to our AndroidForums, snipersgirl .

Here's the original thread where the poot rooting tool was first released:

Optimus Elite root with an apk

There might be some tips in there that could also help you achieve root (even though it was originally developed for the Optimus Elite and you have a Reverb).

Cheers and best of luck!

This method only works with ICS. If your ROM is JB you need to use the instruction in the thread below.
