Default Factory Reset Not Working

Had an interesting night last night trying to root.. It was late and I ended up somehow putting the CleanROM 4.1 on the phone without prepping it first (I really wanted the GBE version).

I'm trying to get it back to stock to try it again and I can't seem to get 4.1 off the phone. Factory resets through HBOOT seem to work, but then I see the startup animation for CleanROM and I confirm that the ROM is still there through Settings..

Any ideas on how to reset this back to stock so I can try again?

Edit: When I get into Recovery, I see the following error:

E: Can't Open /cache/recovery/command

I'm not connected to a PC, so I'm not sure if that's the issue. When I try simply updating from the SD Card, I get :

--------Invalid operation---------
Success rebooting by reason: oem

Trophy, do you mean the nand backup? If so, I did that... I can't seem to get back into the Amon Ra recovery, though. Only the standard Android one.

I have not yet... I was going to do that tonight.. Part of my issue is/was the sim card, I think. Once the phone booted, it would often restart just as it found the network or it would tell me that a sim card is needed to make the phone operate.

I'll work on it more tonight..

Fortunately, I've got my old Incredible sitting on my desk in case I can't get this one to work!

wait now are you saying it was in a bootloop? Does this sound like what was happening at the beginning of your issues?

Right.. But that was only happening some of the time. It was doing crazy stuff, I tell ya!

I tried doing the dialer thing, but the moment I pressed the #, the phone would freeze and then would reboot..

You have to take the sim card out and leave the battery cover off to do he dialer trick.

Yeah... was doing all that.. Still the same result. In starting the whole thing over again in hopes that'll work.. Fingers crossed!

Edit: I ended up starting the whole thing from the beginning and it worked! It's like a new phone! Thanks, Trophy!!
