OK so I'm having the same issue, I bought this Samsung admire from a metro store and it came with the 3026 PRL, I keep reading that people have maunually changed it back to another one how is this done? I have 3G signal when I goto the metro store to trouble shoot the phone and they say there is nothing wrong but as soon as I get around the corner from it I drop my signal and have no data connection. my phone is basically a camera and paper weight. please help if you have advice;
This post was written for the Ascend, but the steps apply to any phone, as long as the correct drivers are installed and can be recognized by the PC and QPST. I've used QPST on my old Ascend as well as on my current Droid Incredible to push MetroPCS PRL's to the phones.

I am currently running the kittlywireless pageplus PRL 51765 in Los Angeles on my sprint flashed to pageplus Nexus S 4G. I am not able to update OTA and would appreciate someone posting an updated pageplus prl.

Hi everyone, I'm pretty to new this. I have the admire rooted, and set to simple IP.
After seeing mixed results posted for various users and/or locations, I wonder. Is it just simple trial and error as to which PRL works best? Or is there one that may be generally better than others?
Have you done comparisons vs. say 3028? I had 3027 when I bought my admire, then did *228 for 3028. My connection has been sporadic at best since. With those being the only one's I've used so far, I have nothing for a history to compare results.

I havent but the reason I downgraded to 3019 was because after upgrading to 3026 and newer prls my phone lost reception and every (and I mean every) call I made in or outside of my house dropped call, after downgrading this problem was fixed.
Well I gathered up some courage with QPST. Now that I'm comfortable with it, I took the opportunity to try each one. Using the app from speedtest.net to measure results.
What I found for 3018 and 3019 was no data at all. 3022 was decent for speed results, but my call quality suffered. That stumps me, as I thought the voice and data networks were separate? Is that right?
3024, 3025 were about as fast as old school dial up on a 56k modem, but 3026, 27, and 28 all averaged 800 kpbs download. (I'm set to Simple IP and have 3g in my area.)
The data network was down in my area the other day, presumably, for service. Since then, 3028 has been stable for me. Signal quality hasn't improved in strength but holds. So I guess for my situation, the answer to my original question seems to be no. Thanks for your input.
Does a newer prl offer better speeds ? I've tried them all and i dont really see a difference in speed ? Which one should i stick to?
The newer one IS supposed to be the best in theory that is
It really all depends on where you live in proximity to towers though
Stick with the one that is the fastest for you-even if it just is a little faster
Hi all i'm making this thread for all to view and download all the prl's and the program to use to install it with, that way it will be easier for everyone and specially for the new comers. And i will update this thread whenever new prl's is release.Enjoy!!!
1. Installed QPST.
2. From the start menu I found the QPST folder and started QPST Configuration
3. Had my Admire connected and opened Device Manager and expanded the Ports icon. I took note of the COM number listed beside the DBAdapter Reserved Interface,which in my case was (COM15)
4. In QPST Configuration I clicked Add New Port at the bottom right and selected the COM15 and enabled it.
5. After that I went back to the start menu,QPST and opened Service Programming. A box popped up asking for a phone and since I only had the one I just clicked OK and a new box with alot of tabs opened.
6. If you go to the Roam tab at the bottom there is a Preferred Roaming area with an area asking for a file. Browse for the PRL and when finished click the Write to Phone button at the bottom of the window. It will ask for your SPC. After that it writes to the phone and the phone reboots on its own. You should let it reboot fully and not unplug it from the computer or mess with QPST while it's doing so.
When the phone is done booting you can close the program and unhook the phone. It took about 10 minutes for data to start working but 3G works fine on it when I'm in a 3G area. All my android phones is using the bloatware free stock ROM found on here and I've had no problems for weeks using it. Hopefully this can be helpful for someone and sorry if it's not made out too well,pretty bad at explaining things :P

I just did the 3031 update and I have no 3g, only 1x. I went to the places that had 3g coverage, and no 3g, only 1x. What do you recommend? Should I downgrade to 3030? If so, what will happen?

For sure revert back to 3030 if it worked better for you. At least the option is available. It just all depends on where you are when a new prl is released whether it will be better or not
