Cry My phone will not charge!

Unfortunately, while I was on my computer and my Admire was on my bed, unhooked from the charger, it said "Charging" and made the noise as if I plugged my phone in. However it was just on my bed, not connected to the charger. I thought maybe dust is in the charger port so I gently blew into it. I shut my phone down, and removed the battery as well. Now my phone will not charge at all no matter what charger I connect it to. I am protected with Metro Guard...this means I should get a replacement if it malfunctioned like it did. However, I do not want to wait for a new phone and I don't want to lose my contacts. Is there a way to fix this? Or is it simply a defect? What do you suggest I do?

Thanks in advance

Did you manage to resolve this? How? I have the same problem with my Admire. It is so frustrating! I do not want to buy a new phone. I just bought this thing.
