Default 3G/data connection

So I did the qpst and prl update via *228 and had my data going in and out and tried everything posted and couldn't figure it out but now I have steady 3G.. Here's what I did.

After I updated my prl I went to qpst and set it to mob ip and wrote to phone.

Then after that it was fine so I figured I'd try to set it back to simple ip and so I did. Now I have constant data and 3G

Let me know if this works for anyone and I'm running monster v1

Also I have my mobile network as automatic

And you may have to do the network app thats on the prl thread

I am getting of tired of Metro crap. I have had no data for days now! Tried 3026, 3027, going back to stock, resetting all the settings in qpst. Still nothing!

Still working on a fix but I'm pretty sure it could be due to them updating the network because I had data all day yesterday and now it's going in and out

MetroPCS has been upgrading here and there. We're seeing reports from various coverage regions. Once your device configuration is set via the *228 code all you can do is watch and wait.

So right now I have 3026 with simple ip, if I don't do anything and leave the phone alone the data works fine, IE still get e-mail, but if I try to do anything like browse the web or go to the market, the data drops and does not come back for awhile, it has been DAYS since I've had data.

Quozzerx - I have the same issue using the same configuration. It seems to be working a little better than 3027 though. I'm from the NY/NJ Area, how about you?

I haven't tried Mobile IP with 3026 yet though. Anyone have any positive results with this?

My girlfriend uses an untouched stock admire with 3027 on mobile and she's working fine. The only problem is that I tried the 3.2.6 upgrade which upgraded my modem and I heard that you're not able to downgrade it. I immediately downgraded because there were so many issues, to a stock ROM I found somewhere here, that worked pretty good until for about 2 months until a week or two ago I started noticing these data drop issues.

Last week I just updated it using the CWM + stock ROM posted and the data drop issue is much better as in its not dropping as much and finding the network back much quicker, but still its dropping a few times a day.

The qpst settings I post are the default for my phone I done see why it would be different other than the phone numbers I just switched my prl back to 3026 and have simple ip on and it's working fine if you did the 3027 I don't think it's quite stable enough for simple ip and ill see about getting my apn settings posted

I downloaded the APN Settings shortcut app but not sure what to put for the APN Settings so if you can post those that would be awesome

FYI - I tried switching back to Mobile IP without changing anything else and it did not work. Waited about a half hour and it wouldn't even sign on to 1x or 3G. Switched back to Simple IP and its at least working 85% of the time. It just knocks out every so often.

2nd FYI - I also downloaded the network app and it's always failing a ping test. There is some odd hobgoblin shit going on with the data on my phone lol.

Default It finally works

Hey All -

I FINALLY got my 3G / Data Connection working and I thought I'd update of how to fix it in case anyone else is having this problem... The problem I was having is that my phone was constantly dropping the data connection ENTIRELY, this is 1x or 3G. It would drop in and out throughout the day no matter where I was. When I did have 1x/3G I would try to use a network enabled app and after about 3 minutes it would just completely drop again. Only thing that worked was phone calls, and SMS and any local apps so my Super Mario SNES emulator/rom came in handy during these stressful moments .

1. Firstly these problems first started when I did the upgrade to 2.3.6 which didn't turn out well, even with the workarounds. After days of trying to get it to work I gave up and went back to 2.3.4 using ODIN and some stock ROM packages that were made by the mods here. Everything was working fine again and I once again was able to put down my scotch.

In the process of going to 2.3.6 I changed my QPST network settings to Simple IP only and had to change all the User ID/NAI settings. For the point of the post, I had to set EVERYTHING back to the way it used to be with the number@aaak.mymetropcs.com User ID/NAI and it's still on Simple IP only because Mobile IP only does not work at all on my phone at this point.

2. The last month or so when these network problems were occurring with MetroPCS and the new PRL came out, I was having a lot of network drops (not like the drops I was explaining before, these were less) and I have been meaning to re-flash my phone with a stable stock ROM build. I re-flashed with CWM and the 2.3.4 stock ROM that MetroNoob posted here - [STOCK] [CWM-BACKUP] Samsung Admire 2.3.4 Stock (EH02)

3. After re-flashing I waited a few weeks till these network problems got sorted, but the during that time my girlfriend had got a Samsung Admire stock and had absolutely NO problems so I thought there's gotta be something with my phone. I tried a few of the custom ROMs out there too (Admiral Beast, Boraichee). I then did this two days ago and I haven't had a single drop since then:

- Made sure the QPST settings were exactly as they were when it was stock (except it was on Simple IP)
- Updated the PRL.
- Boot into CWM and perform a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system & data (inside mounts and storage).
- Flashed the stock ROM from MetroNoob

And then I went sober again .
