Default What is the thing to the right of the T-mo logo?

So, after having the BHII for awhile with a screen protector over it- I just noticed there something that looks like it could be an LED to the right of the T-mo logo. I don't recall seeing any documentation about it. What is it? An LED or a face sensor?

Along the same lines, anybody know what the little pinhole is on top of the phone, next to the power/data jack? Looks almost like a mic, but I doubt they'd add another one just for speakerphone. Could be wrong though.
