Ha, just wanted to show there is no perfect Android phone, but look how far they have come since the G1. Look at Blackberry, they are basically running an 8 year old OS, and they still are finding ways to tweek hardware and software. Android is still very early in its lifecycle, you just have to be patient and allow updates and new hardware to flow to the market. I think the Behold 2 is the best option right now in terms of Android (biased because I won it and I love TMO) today, but I'm looking forward to the next big thing either that loaded up Samsung with the projector, or a MOTO tablet (Droid minus the keyboard).

@mobileme2: I think people here a ticked off with your post because:
1. you placed a link for ne*twork.com which points to a landing page for traffic generating spam (or whatever you want to call it but you know what I mean). Hence the post was considered AD.
2. there are plenty of mods for this phone. Just like any android phone. maybe we don't have official 2.1 support yet, but people here are working very hard to get that going as well. besides, samsung/tmo already stated 2.1 will be coming to BH2 phones.
3. you're bashing the phone based on your opinion and not facts, opinions which are actually untrue or uncalled for because as people have said on the other posts, the problem might not have been BH2 with your dropped calls (you should've checked with tmo if you got a defective unit instead of bashing away), the phone is just like any android phone and fully customizable.
I feel vindicated. I have been warning people not to buy this phone since January.
Even BH_MAN is pissed at Samsung over this crap phone. He was one of the phones biggest supporters. I told you so but I am not happy about it. So, don't buy this phone. If you did buy yhe phone sign the petition. Samsung Needs to Stick to Their Word - Behold 2 Update
Someone on Craigslist offered me a 3G i-phone (not the 3G-s) in good condition for my Behold 2 and $30 and I was going to trade that for the cliq. Good idea? I know the Cliq is at 1.5 right now too but i trust Motorola more than Samsung.
Can someone help me root my bh2? I have tried before with no luck and need it done so i can trade for an iphone.... I have windows 7 64-bit so is it even possible? If not can i flash a rom (bh mans 1.6 with twiz) with odin? How do i get odin.......... I truely am clueless.
The unmounting issue is caused by a faulty cable, it really has nothing to do with the phone. I had that same experience as well, suffice it say though it was the same cable that shipped with the handset and that's just unacceptable.
had the same issue and was really mad about it. then i read some where that you could just change memory cards" i was skeptical but i tried it anyways and it worked back to normal without no probs anymore . but sucks that it does that in the first place even with the stock 2gb that comes with it originally .kinda sux but hey its fixed for me since i changed mmc's . yal should try changing memory cards and tel me if there is still a problem
My experience with the Behold 2 really has been a huge disappointment. Like many others, I looked forward to this phone and the promise, i.e. hype, of Android. The Behold 2 "Experiment" by Samsung and T-Mobile has just opened my eyes to the plain fact THEY HAVE NO INCENTIVE TO UPDATE A RELEASED PHONE. One of the main tenets of Android was supposed to be this open source, anyone-can-update-your-own-phone mantra; hardly the case from what I have read in the forums. This product was way over promised by T-Mobile and Samsung. I had worse reception at home, more dropped calls, consistent-random reboots with the Behold 2. Never has there been clear and consistent GOOD customer service, neither from Samsung nor T-Mobile; service reps with no clue this phone was even an Android based system, no idea if any updates were coming out.
I have cut my losses on the Behold 2; I sold it and am awaiting a move to Verizon. My $0.02 is to sell your phone on Craigslist or Nextwork.com (that is how I unloaded mine) or some other similar site. That is the only way to send a message to Samsung and T-Mobile; flood the street with used Behold 2's thus, reducing any incentive for new/current customers to but a new Behold 2. The simple responsible thing we can all due here is attempt to educate other consumers to, what I would basically say is a product, Behold 2, not ready for market and services from T-Mobile/Samsung, not ready to support their customers post-purchase.
I will NEVER buy another Samsung product, again.
I will soon be leaving T-Mobile after over 9 YEARS as a customer.
"Samsung Mobile and T-Mobile USA are planning to update the Behold II to Android 1.6 which provides access to Google Maps Navigation, Google Voice Search capability and quick search box for Android. The update will also supply additional benefits including Swype, an improved Media Player, updated core Android applications and improved Bluetooth capabilities. However, the Behold II is not upgradeable beyond Android 1.6."
The Samsung Behold 2 for T-Mobile greatly improves on the first version of the phone by adding Android to the mix, providing for a powerful combination of hardware and sowftware. With Android, Samsung's custom TouchWiz UI, a 3.2-inch AMOLED Tou... Read More
