Default Text not working

Just got the touch and have racked my brain trying to fugure this one out. I can send a text but when someone replies, I get nothing back from them. Interesting is the fact that when I send text messages to my wife who is on Virgin Mobile, I can receive her incoming texts.

I get no text replies from anyone on ATT, tMobile or Verizon. I've been through the usual steps of calling support and pulling the battery to no avail. Now I have a ticket open and Sprint is supposed to send someone out in 3 to 5 days to check some towers in my area. Seems a little iffy to me.

I am running stock although I am rooted. Ideas suggestions anyone ?? I've only been with Sprint 5 days now and wondering if I've made a serious mistake. At any rate ... thanks in advance as these forums have been a wealth of info when I had my little Optimus V that ran flawlessly !!

An airave is a device used by Sprint customers who have little to no service in certain locations. it hooks up to your high speed internet and creates a micro cell tower for you to use.

Can someone text you with out replying.
To me sounds like a provisioning issue. Outbound texts are fine but inbound are jacked up.

No one can text me except my wife and my nephew who are both on Virgin Mobile. I myself was on Virgin until last Tuesday and had no problems at all. The Epic 4G that I am using now just doesn't want to play nice with the rest of the carriers. It is a strange issue indeed !! Thanks 69

It has nothing to do with what device your on and more to do with the Sprint network settings. The fact that you came from Virgin mobile a week ago and your number has been ported has a lot to do with this sort of stuff. Its going to be a network issue and you need to be on the phone daily, if not several times a day until they fix it.

Thanks for the reply ! You are correct. Had my phone replaced just yesterday after the Sprint Service guys had it for an hour or so. As I exptected, tech guys said phone was bad and so they replaved it for free right there. Got home and guess what ??? Same problem all over again. No incomng texts from anyone who is not on Sprint (my neice ) or Virgin Mobile ( my sone ).

Sooooo .... back to the store I go and we go thru the whole process again. Finally they say it has to be a network issue. The gal helping me jumps through a bunch of hoops and 2 hours later STILL no messages coming in. So now it's been escalated and I have been givin a ticket number and all that suff. So I have to wait now for 72 hours or so for some tech guy to go out and look at the tower in my area.

I have until the 4th of March to cancel my contract if they can not resolve the issue. That's where I am right now. Pretty disappointed for a guy that jumped ship from Virgin for a better screen and faster phone.

At any rate, thanks for the reply
