Default GPS Issues - Unsafe?

Has anyone ever brought up that Samsung's widespread GPS issues are a potential safety issue. A life threatening one. If I'm not mistaken, don't all phones require 911 GPS capability now days? Well if the GPS is not working or very intermittent, 911 is going to have a hard time finding someone in an emergency. This alone should have Samsung rushing to get their GPS problems fixed ASAP.

Actually not sure this is 100% accurate.
The on board GPS is separate from AGPS. AGPS uses the cell sites / netowrk to triangulate your position. This still works and is not dependent on the device on board GPS.
So its possible to get a general location even if the on board GPS is not working properly.
Im sure i am missing some important detail but you get the gist of it.

Mine has problems only very rarely. On that rare occasion that it won't lock I use the app fast reboot, then go back into maps and it locks fast. Works every time for me.
