Anyone else unable to find/buy a live wallpaper that is more appealing than the ones that came loaded on this phone?? I keep going back to the Ocean Waves one!
I downloaded two different aquarium ones (I'm a fish geek). One paid, one free. Neither comes close!
Personally think the Thunderstorms one is pretty snappy. Rain and lightning. From KitehFace Software. They have both a free and paid (gives lots of settings).
My wife really wants the Ocean Waves wallpaper from my Epic on her Evo.
Anyone know if that one is available for download anywhere? Or, know if it can be copied from my phone over to hers?
I'm going to have her check out some of the other ones that have been mentioned here. Some of them might make her decide she doesn't need the one from my phone.

For some reason it won't let me upload the other two attachments but here are the links for the other Star Wars based live wallpapers from the Droid 2.
Yes, the absolutely do. How much more depends on how well they were coded. There are some poorly written live wallpapers that can really eat up your battery.

It is available for the Evo but it is a little laggy, even with the fps fix on the Evo. I used it a couple of days but it makes swipping from page to page a little slower.
Anybody else notice that most wallpapers that weren't created specifically for Epic look grainy and cheap? This killer screen makes low res stuff look like crap when there's higher res stuff available preloaded on the phone!
The Droid2 R2D2 live wallpapers look like junk... Now the static papers are just about awesome.

they may have taken it off the market due to copyright or something. If I known how to send it to you but I haven't any idea how. Try googling it, it may be on a web site
You can do a search in android market for live wallpapers. You can also use an alternate market called slideme.
My list of favorite wallpapers:
-Live Aquarium (I love this one but huge battery hog)
-Earth Live WallPaper by unixseb (absolutely the coolest, makes the SuperAmoled pop with delight) -VR Tunnel Lite..by MaxByte Studio LLC (Comes in as my second favorite, running it now!) (Runs a black screen with grid marks, so the black screen is not too shabby on battery!)
-Bubbles Live Wallpaper (Amazing Amazing Amazing, but HUGE HUGE battery hog, HUGE!)
-Leaf Bubbles Live Wallpaper by Livewallpaper Team (same as one above it, but it's leafs, huge battery hog)
-Zoomfield by Kaj Bjurman
-Quads by Kaj Bjurman
-Physx (very cool)!
-Nexus One Live Wallpaper by Andres Schmois
All are free. To apply, download, then go to wallpapers, click live wallpapers, and apply through there. Also many of these wallpapers have settings. For example, the earth one, you can change the earth to a soccer ball, you can change the speed of rotation, background, etc.
Enjoy but beware, they use battery!

City at Night
EarthRot (lets you choose other real/fictional planets/moons as well)
Giraffe Live (Shadows of trees and walking giraffes against a gradient yellowish background)
kWall: Uses the rear facing camera as a live wallpaper. Pretty cool but insane battery hog. Fun to show people though.
Luminescent jungle: Subtle day/night cycle of a rainforest
Thunderstorm
Waves Wallpaper: Water and a sailboat, senses the accelerometer in the phone to move the water and boat around the screen. Cool.
Green (gently swaying leaves in the wind)

Samsung Epic 4G (a Galaxy S phone)

I think its because of the recent software update. Many apps are not showing up for us. Hopefully this is fixed soon...
I can't stand how sluggish the phone runs with live wallpapers. I dunno if Google needs to optimize the phone better or what, but the lag gets to me so I just stick to static wallpaper.
I've been running the Earth Live Wallpaper since I got the phone and have not had any problems with lagging whatsoever. I don't think any of the live wallpapers that come preloaded on the phone have lag problems either.

Luminecsence and ocean waves seem to be pretty heavy live papers as they make any phone witb a snapdragon lag bad and you can see its effect even on the epic. Guess that's a price to pay for beautiful papers. It doesn't really lag on the galaxy s phones but it does cause it to be less smooth tha other live papers do
