I bought the 3000mAh battery from Seidio, and I love it.

Everybody's usage patterns are different, but, I've forgotten to charge it two nights in a row and still made it to bedtime on the 3rd day with a little juice left.

Since I generally charge it every night, what it really means for me is that I don't have to be careful how much I use my phone during the day.

I'm still using the stock battery in my phone, but that's because it does the job for me just fine. I did look into the Seido extended battery, but decided not to get it for a couple reasons...

1) I didn't like the added thickness to the phone
2) I didn't really need to spend the ~$75 that it costs when I get through the day just fine as it is.
3) I'm going to charge my phone when I go to bed every night regardless if I have an extended battery, or not (I'm sleeping, so it only makes sense to have it plugged in to recharge).

Now that's just me personally, I know 100% that other people have different habits and needs, and the extended battery might make complete sense for them.

How long ago did you get your Epic? Sprint gives you a 30 day window to return the phone if you want to. If you really don't like it and would rather get the EVO 3D then that may be an option for you.

I personally think the Epic is a great phone and has a lot of life left in it, esp considering Gingerbread upgrade is likely coming soon to it.

I don't mind the extra thickness too much. It actually seems to make the phone more comfortable to hold while using the keyboard.

Yeah, the Seidio battery is a little expensive, but, I didn't trust the ultra-cheap imports that I was seeing on eBay.

I bought the battery for my trip to CES this past January. I was warned that the halls at CES eat cellphone batteries alive. I'm guessing it has to do with being inside large buildings, saturated towers, and huge amounts of interference.

Also, I prefer using a phone with a slide out keyboard (I just can type faster and more comfortably) and the Epic is the best smartphone out there right now with a slide out keyboard. The EVO 3D will not have a slide out keyboard and it seems no other phones in the near future will get one. So my point is, the Epic will not be outdated anytime soon!

Thanks everyone, I think I will be fine with my stock battery. I got my Epic on Thursday and it only lasted like 7 hours (12-7). Then yesterday, I decided to fix things on the phone to have better battery life and wow did fixing things help save battery life! Today, I turned my phone on around 10am and I still have it on now...there is still 50% left on the battery! I am satisfied!

I have one question though...is it okay to charge the phone every night even if it does not need charged?

What did you fix on your phone to get your battery to last so long?

I turned the brightness down all the way, I turned off wifi, 3G, 4G (unless I need them)...those types of things. Doing that really helped my battery!

I swap between batteries, try to at about 15%. Before I got my 2nd battery I would charge when possible, in the car, by the computer, and always before bed. Have three batteries now, they let me keep one when changing my phone out and I still charge before bed.

These batteries don't like being over charged and that is why some people complain that when they take there phone of the charger it will sometimes drop in charge quickly.

This is because once the phone is charged it will stop till it hits around 95% then charge again to keep a full charge. If you pull it at the wrong time it may drop fast at first.

Short answer, I don't believe it will hurt your phone or battery.

Remember, always consult your own financial expert before making any decisions.

The battery technology used in laptops and cellphones these days requires a smart charging circuit.

Overcharging will damage them, as will "deep cycling" them, so It's best not to run them all the way flat before charging.

I plug mine in to top it off every night. The charger circuit won't overcharge the battery.

I bought the extended battery from Seidio extended battery. It makes the phone significantly larger, to the point where it is a nuisance to use. Now while I wouldn't use it on a day to day basis, it is nice to be able to get 4 days when a charger isn't readily avialable.

My Seidio extended battery is great, a must for me. I take the bus, so no way to charge my Epic. It allows me to stream my favorite Tune-in Radio stations or my custom Slacker stations for hours along with doing my normal talk, texting, & web browsing.

I just recently bought a 3000Mah battery and back cover from Acase off of amazon and it was only 30$, I am currently waiting to recieve it though I hope it helps my phone out a lot because half the time I have to charge my phone around 5o'clock everyday, although I am a heavy user and am on my epic often.

Everyone says "switch the battery" how do you know if the battery is fully charged. How do you charge, just the battery?

I have the 3500 mah batt running (bought off ebay from us dealer 6.99 with new back). I can report 48hrs straight use w/o recharging. I can put it in my leather case without much trouble so no real change for me. I love the extended use. I do use JDefender and screen turned down. I believe this horse needs this much juice for all we do on it. My Iphone friends dont do this well in terms of actual use time. This was a great investment. I am now used to the added backing....

update have been using the 3500 and really getting long usage times 2-3 days without charge. I like the back now. This seems like no brainer.

yes that looks like mine. You will be amazed how much more you can use this phone. Even in a year or so the Batt gets weak I will get another.

Is the extra bulkiness easy to get used to?

Have you looked into Gorilla Gadgets?

Samsung Epic 4G Extended Battery - 3500mAh with Back Plate
CODE: bat-0008-blk. Normally: $50.99 On sale:$24.99 Hard to beat that kind of mAh with a back plate also.

Need a belt clip that will hold your new set up with the extended battery?

Samsung Epic 4G Belt Clip
CODE: BLC-0003-BLK. Normally: $15.99 On sale: $10.99

Product Description:
This belt clip will keep your Samsung Epic 4G securely at your side no matter where you are. The felt lining will keep the face of your Epic 4G protected while it is on your belt and best of all it works with our extended battery. Look very similar to the one I bought from Sedio which was one of the best belt clips I have ever bought.

It will cost you $3.00 to have it shipped but usually arrives in 3 to 5 days. I've heard others tell me they've received it faster though. Since today is Saturday, I did a tracking on my package and it says that it will be here in Arizona on Monday. So, for less than $40 and arriving on Monday I'm very pleased.

They also have a 100% Satisfaction Gurantee so that's hard to beat as well. I've been doing a lot of research on extended batteries and like others I do love Sedio's line but $75 just for the battery and at 3000mAh I went with the Gorilla Gadget one after reading all the great reviews on forums that Gorilla Gadgets had nothing to do with. I just ordered mine day before yesterday and they've also sent me a certificate code for 10% off any future orders.

Just for your own piece of mind, do research on those who have the battery and see what they have to say about it. That's the reason I went ahead and ordered mine. I wish Sedio would drop their prices since they have some very high quality products but I have a feeling I will be happy with the Gorilla Gadgets battery, back plate and belt clip. Now, if only Mophie would come out with a Juice Pack made for other products other than only Apple. I have one of their Mophie Juice packs for my iPod Touch and I can run that thing all day and it has never run out of battery power on me and I've had that since the iPod Touch 2nd Gen came out.

Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for.
