Default Epic on Verizon?
It looks like at least with the Captivate and Vibrant unlock codes have been found and its easy to move one from one network to the other.

I wonder if it will be as easy to unlock the Epic, a CDMA phone, and use it on VZW?

It doesn't matter, CDMA/EVD0 networks have to allow the device on their network regardless if it's unlocked or not. Verizon will not allow it, ever.

Agree just because you can unlock it doesnt mean the carrier will allow it on their network
