I've been with AT&T for years, and I picked up a Captivate with my upgrade last month. It was my first android phone and except for the flakey GPS it was a great phone. Awesome screen, snappy interface, and in low usage times, I was getting 2+ days between charges.
But, then I found out that I can get 20% off Verizon through my company, AND Verizon is now offering a special rate plan (like a test market) for central Texas customers only. It's umlimited talk and text to any mobile number (on any carrier) + 700 minutes for landline numbers for $99 for 2 phone. So, shoot, I figured, I'd switch to Verizon. So, I took back my Captivate.
And now off to Verizon!!! .... and....well.... no Galaxy S here.....
So, I'm stuck trying to decide if I want to wait for it to come out, or just suck it up and jump on the DInc bandwagon.

Grrr....
Ok, I'm done venting.
I would wait! The Incredible is great, but the Fascinate will be better, from everything I've researched, including friends who one a Galaxy S variant on another carrier. Don't sell yourself short!
I let a skillful saleswoman convince me to get the Eris about 40 days before the Incredible came out. Big mistake. I knew the Incredible on Verizon was coming down the pipe, but my impatience landed me a phone that has been a nightmare. I'm on my third one.
And many of the Incredibles are getting stuck with LCDs rather than AMOLED screens. I would wait for Samsung. I really hope we don't have to wait much longer!!!
PLEASE be sooner rather than lateR!!!

I wasn't aware of that. When did that start?

I would wait. The inc is a geat phone but i think youll like the fascinate better.
I've never been on Verizon. So, does anyone have a junk just-a-phone that I could use in the meantime? What did Verizon call it? Customer Provided Handset, I think. That way I would at least get on the new plan, start with Verizon now, and then wait for the Fascinate in a month or two and lock in my contract then. (Edit: Wow, people on craigslist want TOO much money for their used Verizon phones. Welcome to the Cricket/Pocket re-flash effect.)
BTW, was there ever a definitive answer if the Fascinate will have dual LED flashes with the camera?

Check out at&t premier. I am getting a 18% discount on my basic minute plan, 18% off the data portion, but I still have to pay the full text messaging portion.

The Samsung Fascinate is the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. Much like it's brothers, it includes the same 5.0MP camera capable of taking some of the best quality 720p HD video at 30fps. Unlike the other Galaxy S phones ... Read More
