I am thinking this means the phone will be coming out on or sometime before September 12th.

That would totally make my day, but I don't want to get too excited. So why the 9/12 prediction?

Because the MTV Video Music Awards is on the 12th. The event is being sponsored by Verizon and the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate. That is what it says on MTV's website. It doesn't make sense for Verizon to sponsor such a huge event if the phone isn't out by the time the event happens. There are going to be millions of people tuning into that event. What Verizon would prefer is people seeing the advertisements for the phone and want to go pick it up immediately. They aren't going to want to see "Coming Soon"
