Default Post your Screenshots and Wallpaper!

Hey Guys, i originally wanted a Droid X, up until i saw the fascinate today and now thats all i can think about. Haha. I am getting mine this weekend and wanted to open a thread where people can post thier screenshots and wallpaper in order inspire everyone and be inspired. Please make sure is is sized properly so the thread is not jacked up.

I'll start by posting some wallpapers since i dont have my phone yet.

Resolution is 960 x 800

Finally got my phone, and wanted to add this here, this is how to take screen shots of your phone if you are not rooted. I am a new android user, so i have not had a lot of experience with this, we will all learn from each other together...

Go here, Java SE Downloads - Java SE Downloads - Sun Developer Network (SDN)
Download the JDK and install that.
After you're done installing that, go to Android SDK | Android Developers
and download the SDK for whatever Platform you have and Install that.

YouTube - How to Screen Capture your Android Phone?

NO NEED TO ROOT USING SHOOTME

Alternatively you could donwload the "SHOOTME" APP from the android market, open the app, shake it, the pictures are stored in your SD card, you could upload to picasa and then copy the url of the screensht and paste it in here... This is a much better method though, probably the best!

Screen resolutions is 480x800 but wallpapers should actually be sized at 960x800 because of wallpapers acrolling when switching screens.

Default Show Your Fascinating Wallpapers (sorry, I had to)

I figured since other phone forums have Official Wallpaper Threads, we could start one here.

I take no credit for any of these, I just resized them, or got them from other forums.

The correct size for wallpapers is 960x800

Here are a few of the ones I have (and again, sorry for the terrible pun)

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to merge this thread with the other one already present, hehe. Nice title though!

Sorry, I didn't realize there was another one. Just saw the picture thread

One thing I noticed that helps a lot, is to

PLEASE LIST YOUR APPS/WIDGETS ON YOUR SCREEN SHOTS

Then there aren't a million questions about what's this and what's that. I don't know how many times people have asked what Tajm and Battstatt is

And a free app in the market to take screen shots is drocap2 (root only)

And here is an article about how to take screenshots without root

I'll start with some screenshots

I have Launcherpro Plus with a hidden notification bar, and some text icons that I can't remember where I got them

Lock Screen: WidgetLocker with Digital Clock (4x1)

Main Screen: Digital Clock (4x1)

Left Screen: Switchpro Widget, Smart Shortcuts, Vivid Icon Set applied with Bettercut, and Weatherbug Elite Widget

Right Screen: LauncherPro Calendar Widget

Here are my 7 homescreens. I've tried to maintain a theme on each page. Also, my overall setup is so the pages to the left of the main home screen contain the 'fun' widgets/apps, and everything to the right is 'business time':

PS: Those aren't real calendar entries on page 5.

clicky

The dimensions aren't 960x800, but it doesn't matter since there is no picture, so it won't get distorted or cut off or anything

This is probably going to be a stupid question, but how do I get that as my wallpaper? Do I go on these forums on my Fascinate, click the picture and try to save it as my wallpaper? Also has pure black wallpapers really been proven to conserve battery life on the Galaxy S phones?

I just saved em on my computer and transferred it to the SD card - if there's a way to save pictures in a browser on the phone, I'd love to hear it! For whatever reason, long-tapping the homescreen and going to Wallpaper > Gallery doesn't work for me. However, going directly to the Gallery app, finding the picture, and tapping Menu > More > Set As > Wallpaper, and then stretch/shrink the selection box to your liking (and hit Save, of course).

I'm not sure about "proven", but the way AMOLED screens work is that each pixel is powered separately (might not have the right wording on that..). There is no backlight. So the color black is just the pixel being turned off, instead of being set to show black and still have a light go though it.

And my apologies if I've said something you already know, just covering the bases.

Working clock.. no theme pack.. just me fooling around.

The clocks are from Market and come in that style in several colors for 99 cents: "Droid Eye Blue," etc...

Very true. Every screenie I put up is taken with ShootMe. Its pretty nice. I take the pic, crop if needed and then upload to picasa so I can link it in threads and what not. Needless to say I am rooted.
My only minor complaint with ShootMe is its shake sensitivity. Sometimes I shake it and it doesnt take a snapshot. So then I shake it a lot and it takes 2 pics. Again, very minor problem and it might just be a me problem

Yes, I already tried that, too. The only method that works now is going to the Gallery first. But hey, at least there's a way, so I'm happy.

That has happened to me to. I'm pretty sure that it actually takes the screen shot, but doesn't give you the notification. So when you try it again, it shows 2.

Right here: Post your Screenshots and Wallpaper!
Screen is 480x800 but the recommendation is 960x800 due to scrolling screens

w00t it does work! So I'm very new to smart phones, though I tech savvy as a mofo. So this is my first go at customizing my SF. Let me know if i forget to label something please.

Using Launcher Pro Free which I mostly used to change the dock, get rid of extra screens I don't need (yet =P), and to hide bloatware. I have Battery Indicator Pro up top in the notification bar and Beautiful Widget on my main screen for clock and weather.

Hehe I just previewed my post - it looks nice =P

quick question - to post the screenies, I did what someone above mentions which was upload them to picasa. Then I just right clicked and copied location and pasted that to the 'Insert Image' prompt. That the right way to do it?

Not everyone is rooted though to use Shoot Me! Although Shoot Me alone is worth the 2 minutes it takes to root.

The Samsung Fascinate is the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. Much like it's brothers, it includes the same 5.0MP camera capable of taking some of the best quality 720p HD video at 30fps. Unlike the other Galaxy S phones ... Read More
