Low on internal space - cannot fix - root?
For the past couple of weeks I'm getting the "low storage space" warning on my Galaxy S Fascinate (on Telus in Canada).
I have everything moved to the SD card that I can - any apps, I believe all my photos/music are over there etc. Internal storage is only 478MB (yeah throws me for a loop too but that looks like the proper specs). So clearly that gets eaten up fairly quickly. I've deleted all my SMS etc etc. I do have a 16GB SD with 12GB free.
I'd love to kill a lot of the preinstalled apps that I've never touched but can't I believe without rooting the phone however from reading around it doesn't look like there's any ROMs available for the Telus version of the Fascinate?
I saw some info on Cyanogenmod and it looked useful but but doesn't look to be compatible either.
Another kicker is to do straight updates most sites are saying to use the Samsung Kies program however it doesn't recognize my phone either. Plus I'm on a Mac and a lot of the root docs out there are more PC specific.
Am I just screwed? Any help?
I'm fairly computer "smart" but going to say I'm fairly phone "dumb".
