Default Galaxy 551 memory & storage

Hi all,

I am just new to the Galaxy 551 which I got from Bell as an upgraded hardware. This thing is completely different from my old phone which is already 7 years old. I wish to find out:

1) How do I know whether an optional SD card was installed on my phone?? I cannot find any SD card slot on the side of the phone but I was told that there is one installed.

2) How do I find out whether the pictures/video are stored in the phone's memory or the SD card (if one is installed) ??

3) If I take any pictures/video with my phone, how do I find them & review them on my phone?

Thanks for your patience!!

Hi there, welcome to the forums

I don't have your phone, but I'll try and answer the best I can. The guys in the Galaxy 551 forum may be able to offer more assistnace than I: Samsung Galaxy 551 - Android Forums

1. I've googled some pics of the handset and I can't see where it could be. There appear to be 2 volume buttons on one side and something else on the opposite side, is it there? Could it be underneath the battery even?

2. Generally speaking, apps are saved to the phone memory by default and pics etc are saved to the SD Card by default.

3. Is there a Gallery app on the phone?

Thanks for the quick reply.
On my new Galaxy 551, the volume button on one side but on the other side is just the power/lock button. There is no sd slot. I guess the sd card (if installed) must be underneath the battery and that means I have to open the back cover and remove the battery if I want to remove the sd card so that I can load its contents to a pc. May be I can connect the phone directly to the pc if I need to unload the pics/video to the pc. I am not sure how the phone device would appear on the PC once it is connected. Could appear as another hard drive with folders or what ??

Yeah, You'll either have the option to sync the device with the PC using Samsungs Kies software or you can mount it as an external drive and view it as you would an external hard disk.

Thank you!!
I guess there are so many things I have to try out.
I also noticed that I should have posted the thread to sub-forum "Samsung Galaxy 551" instead of sub-forum "Introductions". Is there any way to transfer the thread to the right forum??

I can move it for you if you like, but it's not a problem having it here so don't worry about it.

You can post again in the forum I linked to in my first post.

1.)Is it the galaxy 551 ,I5510 .If it is ,open the back panel.Just below the volume buttons microSD is written !!.You can see the card.No need to remove battery

2.)In SD only.Internal memory is inaccessible .

3.)Gallery .They are stored in DCIM folder.

hi
karandpr says correct, and completly true.
memory card is under the volume key under the back panell, and internal memory is just for program and os, you can not access to it.
the picture goes to folder named DCIM.
