I've moved your post over here to the Galaxy Ace forum where maybe other Ace owners can give good advice.
I think in your settings, you can find an option to do a Factory Data Reset - most Android phones have that.
If you phone freezes just laying around doing nothing, it's frozen when you pick it up, then you might consider that.
It will erase your apps and your data, and you'll have set things up again - make sure your contacts on the Google web (login to Gmail on web, check Contacts link) - if they are there, your contacts to automatically reload.
