Thanks for the tute although i didn follow any of your steps as such.. i just used Odin and flashed 2.3.5 over CM7 coz my Wifi kept gettin messed up and annoyed the shit outa me..
Just sayin.. Im one of those guys who downgraded..
But no disregard for the ROM.. pure awesomeness.. alot of work has gone into it and i thank the devs for it plus for those who ported it to Ace.. but the Wifi needs fixing.. so im gona wait.. coz the simple rule for devs is.. You dont ASK for a ROM.. you simply WAIT for it

I did upgraded with odin to 2.3.5 which is from Netherland. After 1-2 weeks I wanted to see if there a kies 2.3.5 for Germany. But even I installed alot (near 6-7 roms 2.2.1 2.3.3 2.3.4 different region roms xx xw ones) of roms with odin, kies is allways checking and upgrading the phone with the 2.3.5 from Netherlands. Only the, if remember right, xxkpo 2.3.5(SER) is changing the region to SER (i guess it is serbia?) but after downgrading to 2.2.1, kies says your phone can not be updated.
Before that Netherland 2.3.5 I could downgrade to 2.2.1 stock rom and upgrade via kies on a german stock rom.

Don't think so because, I don't have the Sim card or wifi on, on the phone while flashing so no google account at all. With the old roms didn't have a problem switching from Polish or Russian to German with a 2.2.1 stock ROM I had for kies upgrade checks. My opinion stock rom >> random extracted roms.
Except custom roms, where the developer has something to loose their name on the community.
I did the procedure step by step by it did not work it out. . . it talk about two hours and still no pass message appear so i just take the usb out of my phone. Is there any application I can use to get back to my original rom. . i mean just like the one i did in flashing the cyanogenmod7 using the recovery mode?
As i am really wanted to flash back my phone to original stock rom, i followed the steps above. . . when i press the "VOL DOWN + HOME+ POWER KEY" what appeared on my screen is not the "downloading. . . ." but this one "Emergency Dload(ARM9 Mode)". I think there must be a problem since the process is stuck up to

guys i have a little of the track question
actually i dont understand why you guys are downgrading your phone to gingerbread
I have heard cm7.1 is pretty good so if you guys are downgrading there might be some reason
can you guys please tell me the drawbacks of cm7.1
actually i wanted to get cm7.1 but i cant really decide if i should or not
so please help me!!
i havent checked up in a while but from what i know certain parts of cm7 dont work on our ace' like the camera and gps. some people also find problems with the cm7 too ,,,, its about personal taste really,
also you need to have a stock rom installed to get updates.......such as if we ever get ics
i followed all the above mentioned steps
at the end when i clicked on the start button, a dialog box with a msg saying "check image files" appeared
then i cilcked ok and nothing is happening after that
plz someone help
thanx in advance
I installed cm7.2 had major prob with wifi and video camera plus gas but the Rom is shit hot. So thanks everyone who took time to build. It also has flash built but due to camera i had to change Rom. I don't have access to a pc and can't find any strait zip file to install same way as i did cm7. Can anyone tell me if its possible without using odin. Im now running ics stock Rom which has totally fixed camera and wifi its also quick as hell oh and no youtube problem which cm 7 had to. The one draw back i really miss from the stock 2.3.6 gingerbread is the swype keyboard. Does anyone know if there is a zip souly to install that.thanks everyone

I've got the same situation as Vipernight describes. My CM7.2 Ace doesn't get into downloadmode. When after removing the battery, sim and sd I connect to the pc first and than I hold the three buttons at the same time and while holding the buttons insert the battery I get into security downloadmode. Odin recognises the phone but doesn't start flashing. What can I do?

Download mode problem Soved:
Used the app "Reboot Menu [No Ads]" and the unwilling Ace went into download mode immediately! After that followed the instructions above and rebooted in Gingerbread 2.3.4.
My ace bricked when I tried to downgrade. This happened due to disconnection of my phone twice from the ODIN while the process was going on. Now the ace shows nothing then the black screen. Any suggestions.
