Default Why can I hear an echo of my voice?

Hi all. Dunno if anyone might know the answer to this: when I make a voice call I get an echo of my own voice. I can hear the other person ok and they can hear me ok. Running Gingerbread standard from 3UK.

Cheers
Gordon
