Issue with Contacts sync and Facebook
Hi there guys,
I've been diving into a lot of threads and posts and couldn't find an answer for this. I'm experiencing a weird behavior on my Samsung Galaxy Ace with Gingerbread version and I'd like to get your point of view just in case something is wrong with it.
Basically, I erased all of my contacts and wanted them all added again. So I went to the Account Sync menu and added my facebook account. So far, so good, all of my facebook contacts were added.
After that, I downloaded the Facebook application and after installing it asked me how I wanted to sync the contacts; I selected "All".
When I checked my contact list, I saw all the facebook contacts with two logos, one, a green silouette of a person, and the facebook logo; they were like... let's say duplicated, but grouped each one into one single contact.
So I checked the Sync menu and found two Facebook accounts synchronized, I believe one is the one I added first through the menu, and the other is added by Facebook when I installed the application.
The thing is that I accepted two friend requests today, and it was added ONLY on the list of contacts of the green silouette and not on the list of Facebook contacts with the blue fb link, so if I go to Groups menu, and compare the number of contacts between both Facebook lists, and I have a difference of two contacts (388 versus 390 contacts). Even if I click on Sync option, nothing happens and the contact never gets added to the other Facebook list, therefore I don't see the facebook updates and media when I enter to the contact details.
Any thoughts on this? I mean, I know this is like a very detailed behavior/bug, but it is nice to see the facebook activity on the contact when you access to it, for all of them, not only for the old ones.
Well, I know I may have confused you with my explanation but I'll be happy to explain myself better if you need to.
Thanks, and greetings from Argentina!
Carlos
