can't download maps on 3G... what am I doing wrong?
I'm a recent convert to Galaxies, after using an iPhone for many years. I love my Galaxy so far, and I'm still figuring out stuff.
I usually just search maps when I'm on wi-fi, but today I went on a hike and got lost... oops... so I turned on packet data, hoping to get a map for my location. However the tiles wouldn't load. I was connected to 3G fine, so I just don't get it! The GPS was also working fine (the blue arrow was showing), it just had empty tiles for my location. I tried later when I got home, where I know the 3G network is strong, and it was the same problem for un-cached locations. As soon as I connected to wifi (for some reason it never automatically connects to my home wifi network - I have to turn wifi off and on again), the tiles filled with maps immediately.
I'm sure I must be just doing something wrong... any tips for this newb?
PS after walking in circles in while, I managed to find my way back to civilisation!
