Hi All

I am new to this forum

I have voice search option on my phone but i dont have voice data. where i can access my call list through voice and to make calls

My query is does android have only voice data app or if there are any other alternatives so that i can use that feature and make
my life easier to make calls through voice support specially while i am driving

My mobile is samsung galaxy ace GT 5830I , android version is ginger bread. phone bought very recently in september I am from india.

I think there should be some alternative in android market. ginger bread
guys should be given the facility as well . what u say

Hi,

The S5830I is actually a different phone to the S5830. They have different hardware.

The voice actions on the ACE are country dependent. Some are not available in some countries. In UK (and on S5830) you can instruct phone to call/send text to contacts from your contacts list. You must have the contacts on your google account for this to work and not just stored on phone/sim.

If you have them stored on google and voice search activated then it must not be available in your region. When the phone came out some features only worked if you changed your language to english US (as this region had all activated)

Hey thanx for that info. Just 1 last question. For example if i add my dads number along with the country code under contacts list and use voice search option on my mobile will it atleast go to that screen where my dads contact details are there on my mobile. I have acutally added my dads number without country code under contacts in my gmail code only with the phone number. any chance by doing like this.
Voice search option is there on my mobile .

I have the Galaxy Ace GT S 5830i, I don't use it much but the battery runs down in 2days is there any reason for this and is there anything I can do to prevent it, nothing too technical as I am 86 and not too technical minded.

I am afraid that's the max you would get out of this phone. I suppose 2 days accounts for mostly calls & a few sms's. If you were to use wifi/2G/3G/Bluetooth or play videos it would be even less.

2 days is pretty damn Impressive for this phone. I can go through 1 or 2 charges a day.
