Is there any way to make 4G stay?

So my mom's Galaxy Attain keeps losing its 4G signal. Its been going on for a few month (since I bought it). It has 4G for a good while, but then it goes away. It doesn't go to 3G, since we get not 3G service in my neighborhood, and doesn't even go to 1x. It stays signal-less. I either have to switch airplane mode on and off so it can come back. Other times, my mom has to restart the whole phone over. Meanwhile, my LG Esteem (with Metro also) has 4G all of the time, and we live in the same apt. So I don't get it o_O?

It's not uncommon for attains to loose signal or show 4g but never load.

It's part of the reason I got an lg connect.

I haven't been able to figure out why though.

Thanks for the response. I asked this when only my mom had the phone. But now my sister has her own Attain, and it does the same. Weird.

Lol it might be a defect by Samsung :P
I had an old smart phone from sprint before and it had the same problem that the attain has with losing signal.
