Default firmware
i plugged my 5660 to kies ,and it show update ur firmware ,as it was updating suddenly light goes off,and when i again connect it it show emergency recovery,i tried many times but it fails to recover,tell me wht sould i do,now my cell is off when i on it it shows disconnection logo bw pc and mobile

Are you able to go into "Download" mode ?

Turn off the handset, press Home+Vol-Down at the same time and while holding these two buttons, press the Power button. You should be able to see "Download" or "Downloading" in yellow color.

If Download mode is still working, then you can flash a firmware using Odin.

yes dear i m able to go to downloading mood .and install odin ,but whts is the recommnded firmware for asian ,i m from pakistan,plz tell or provide a link for download ,thanks for such coperation man

i have downloaded firware for asian but it missing Gio_v1.0.ops from where i can get it?

yes its working now,but its slower than the previous firmware,do u know any site that has compatible firmware for pakistan asia

Which firmware you downloaded and programmed? Froyo or Gingerbread ?

Dial *#1234# from your keypad.
You will see 03 lines showing version numbers.(PDA, PHONE and CSC)
Post all three lines here so that I can know which one you programmed.

dear i have s5660zskc5 firmware,not gingerbread but its slow than the originally previous present in phone, i tried S5660DXKC3 but its not supporting odin,its zip files has differnt extension which is not supported by odin,both these are asian firmware,what should i do to try kc3 version

Why not you go for Gingerbread XXKPA (european) ?

I also have a Gio S5660 as a second phone. I wanted to give the Gingerbread a try but since this phone is under warranty and till the moment I could not find the stock ROM in case I need to revert back.

Since you have already flashed your phone, so can you give Gingerbread a try ? It is available for download on the same website.

Firmware with urdu language is not available on the net , but if you facing speed issue ,you must try Custom Rom its faster better and save more battery ,

Download GIOPRO v1.1 not v1.0 .. 1.1 is availble at same page scroll down...

and don't forget to follow everything , A2sd is great feature must use it to make your phone faster and saves battery...
A2sd will install apps on you sd card , so you your internal phone memory will be more free it will help to perform fast .. good luck..

i went to samsung service center they installed the comptible firmware and its working fast with good battery time,but i have another problem as i m installing application on my phone some of application goes into phone memory and my internal memory get full ,how can i install my application only to my memory card to have free internal memory

Some Apps are designed to be installed (or can be moved ) on SD card.

Goto Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications--->All

Now click on any installed app, a new window will open.

Now look for some button which says "Move to SD"

To Install All your apps on memory card you need A2SD which can be enable by using a rooted phone...

Link i have given you above will guide you all the way... Install Custom Rom (which is already rooted) just follow the instructions and you can enable A2SD...

i m using GALAXY GIO but last night i upgraded the firmaware 2.2 froyo with replica of 2.3.3 Gingerbread..by using Odin_Multi_Downloader_v4.42..

Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 Original Stock ROMs (Europe and Asia Firmware Version) ~ Android Solution

now my firmware detail are:

PDA : S5660XXKPA
PHONE : S5660XXKP7
CSC : S5660SERKP4

mein ye clear krna chahta ho k koi masla to nahi hai kiun k ye asian firmware nahi hai ??

What is so special about Asian firmware??? there is no updates for Asia , its slow , consumes alot of battery , full of bugs .... NO urdu language support ...
yeah you can install whatever version you want to install Via Odin...

now i m facing a problem.. 2weeks ago.. on galaxy gio dvdrip and brrip xvid playback was very good smooth..but now i facing prblm video playback is not good not smooth during playback i can'nt forward/backward the video stream. same software was working very good 2weeks..now i m facing this prblm..
u have any idea about that ??
i m using moboplayer on gio..and using codecs for gio.. armv6vfp.. but i m facing this prblm now..

IMEI = your phone serial no.
then select your city.
the phone install the 2.2 version that have your language.

its better u should go to samsung customer service support in saddar they have original firmware and ll install u free of cost i did it ,and its working perfectly no battery or hanging issue and fast,it also support urdu language they have pakistani firmware i tried on net but didnot find the original firmware for pakistan so i did it from service center
