Sim card on indulge not really a sim card?

So, when i bought the phone the lady showed me the "sim card" and mentioned it was not a sim card and i was not to remove it at all because it would mess up my phone? i really find this hard to believe.. so is it really a sim card?.. has anyone removed it? if so, what is it? and why doesnt metro want you to remove it?

The answer is that yes it is a SIM card. However unlike GSM phones you cannot just unlock your phone and put in the SIM of another network (in this case say Verizon) and be able to operate on that network. Basically the SIM cards authorize you to operate on the LTE network but not the CDMA network. Since you need both networks for the the phone to function properly the SIM is paired to the phone and changing it would render it inoperable.

Not wanting to bust ur bubble but its not a sim card its called a uicc card its only used for metro's lte network dont know where u get ur info but unless u have done the research never believe rumors. uicc stands for universal integrated circuit board its almost like a sim card but not quite.

i take mine out when i take the bat out sometimes, its never messed my phone up and ive had it since it came out

It is a SIM card - for the LTE functionality. LTE is a GSM-based technology. You can remove the SIM and still use CDMA just fine, but have fun trying to get on 4G without it.

So would it be possibl to use another 4g lte service with a different card?

I'm not following. Do you mean like use a sim card from Sprint or (more likely) Verizon for 4g service?
If so, re-read the second post. It's not going to work, because the card is somewhat different for cdma than your typical GSM SIM card, and the networks use different frequency ranges. So far, the closest we have as far as frequencies are concerned is ATT's upcoming 4g network.

What we have then would be considered a SIM card with a CSIM application.
The other two types would be UMTS and plain old SIM.
