Battery Charge problem

For the past few months, i have been getting a message telling me my battery pack is unsupported when i plug it in to charge. I should mention it dosent happen all of the time, but often enough for me to register for this site to find out what the hell is wrong. I am using the battery that came with my phone so i really am at a loss as to what is going on. I thought maybe it was specific outlets that were giving me problems but every one ive used works at least some of the time, so i doubt that is it. This wasnt a problem when i first got the phone so maybe it was a software update that screwed it?

any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. i cracked my screen yesterday, phone still works perfect but i was wondering how much it would cost to replace? Thanks in advance

If you order the part and do it yourself? 25. (if you don't fuck something up in the process)

If you have a professional do it: 75ish.

Yeah. Your battery is going bad.
You need to get a new one.

Not sure what's wrong with your phone, but I have something similar going on with mine, and I don't think it's the battery.

This just happened for the first time today, and I happen to have a second battery which also will not charge in the phone. The second battery is a metro pcs one which came with an external charger and has worked in the past but I hadn't used in a while.

I've never had problems with this phone, but had another Galaxy Indulge traded in when the screen stopped working. Fantastic phone, when it works.

I had that problem with an extended battery and it turned out on of the little plastic rails that separate the three contact broke on one side and was blocking the third contact from making contact. I just broke the other side of the rail off and the issue went away.
