so i've had this phone for about a year now, it was working fine. then started telling me that external sd card blank or has unsupported file systems! i heard that formatting would work but would erase pics, vids, etc.
any way i can at least recover files if i format?

any help would be appreciated.

If you format the card, it's gone..
If you have another microsd phone, you may be able to get it to mount long enough to get the files off before you format it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the card itself was bad though, in which formatting it will not help, you'll need a new card
