Default Drivers and apps, please help!

I'm a bit new Galaxy user, and am having some issues with it.

- I wanted to download apps from the market via WiFi, but nothing seems to happen, I only see the Starting download bar. I found some posts about Google talk interference etc., but those don't seem to work. I use Froyo 2.2, maybe the update would fix it?

- I downloaded the Android SDK and the Google USB driver package and connected the phone to the pc. But when I tried to install the drivers, Windows 7 says it didn't find the proper driver in the folder I downloaded it, and the install failed.

Please help, I'm fed up with the 25418 tutorials which redirect me to antoher 5437 download apps and drivers and troubleshooting pages which also require 543751 tutorials that make me download softwares that require other 5482 softwares and drivers.

I just want to install some apps on the phone. Yes, I checked the Dropbox feature as well, but I don't understand the whole thing (why is it for, how to use it etc. - sorry, I'm not that virtual genius).
