Thumbs up flash thru ODIN safe and successful

hey guys.. i am from Philippines.. and actually earlier in the morning, i rooted my galaxy pro b7510.. i deleted some files leaving it r/w.. i did not put it back on r/o.. i wanted to install jbed java emulator but the ram is really low on space so i decided to reset the phone.. then the force close issue began.. i am not knowledgeable about android phones since i had been a symbian user for about a few years and i just decided to switch to android last year 2011.. i had bricked many android phones in the past but came up with the solution which i think none of the service centers had done in their whole life.. and.. as a noob, it was my first time to encounter this force close issue on samsung phones.. so.. without second thought.. i was frustrated to solve this,, and.. i came into a site which i think will give me that "solution" and here it is :

Upgrade Samsung Galaxy Pro B7510 to Gingerbread 2.3.6 Asia Firmware

many thanks to the writer of that article, i was already in the pit of being hopeless but thanks to ODIN..

actually that is an android upgrade for galaxy pro but i already have 2.3.6 installed on my unit, and i just reinstalled it, just like what i did on my symbian phones back then..
i just wanted to share this with you since you already have basic computer knowledge.. it is really easy to flash firmware with odin actually.. (oh btw, this is my first time to flash an android firmware with odin because i was really scared to brick my phone again haha), just follow the instructions there.. replacing the two files (ops and firmware package) with the firmware for your phone...

and for those who cant make it, it is a must to have a pc manager for your android on your desktop (i.e. samsung kies) so that you wont have to worry about errors in driver installation..

i am really confident with this solution as i already flashed mine with this..

and voila, galaxy pro is back in action!! )

Default I'm fed by up using a Samsung Galaxy mini

I have a samsung galaxy mini which, after downloading the Android "WhatsApp" has stopped working and comes up with the message
"Sorry The application Samsung Home (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." "Force close"
I have 'forced close' many times. Switched the phone off and back on many times and taken the battery out and put it back in a few times - i am at the end of my tether, bringing it back to the retailer isn't an option, for a couple reasons, pleas, anybody help me, I'm also lost without my phone.

Hi all,
I have resolved it by these steps,
1. Remove the memory card (i think that app was in memory card )from phone.
2. Delete all the application related files from the memory card.
3. Put it back to phone.

It worked for me..

I tried this but the phone simply starts again (the Home button has not effect). Is there another way to factory reset?
THanks

if possible to access setting, go to settings/application/manage app/"all" tab/scroll down until u found Samsung Home open it, first, force stop then clear cache and data but if u cannot access the setting and don't want to reset your phone to factory settings (it will delete all of your data) try to find wi-fi that your phone can access and a computer that have internet. Now, using computer go to android market and log in your acct. then find application called
" go launcher ex " click on that app and install it (don't worry, its free app) then, with your malfunctioning phone but wi-fi connected, it will download the app and install itself. Now the tricky part, once installed a pop-up will ask you if you want to switch either go launcher or samsung home and below a check-box of the default you want to use, (REMEMBER THAT DO NOT CLICK ON THAT CHECKBOX) now, choose go launcher ex as your new home (JUST LEAVE THE BOX BELOW UNCHECKED) you can now operate your phone (but not fixed yet) you can now access the setting, just follow the procedure i mention above but don't exit on that page,
now that we are almost done with the fix, scroll down you will see clear default button and hit that. Restart your phone then a pop-up will launch again now you can choose what fits for you "go launcher ex" or the classic "samsung home" but after you choose, check that checkbox for your default home if you choose samsung home, you can now uninstall go launcher ex.

Here is my advise:
Try to install application called Smart Task Switcher or Smart Taskbar and pin to your task bar, with that application slide down your tastbar and you can access the phone setting instatly even if twlaucher error happens again, and there is no need to find wi-fi hot-spot, install go laucher ex again, just go to setting and fix it and dont forget to reboot when you're done.

I signed up just to tell Thank You! This worked first time in! Very cool, I was fearing I would have to delete all my data!

Default Wait a minute, chap...

I think you don't really wanna do that, do you? It would wipe all your precious data, your favourite games, etc. Why don't you blokes just find the Samsung Home launcher on the apps list (You'll find it under 'all' tab considering it's a system app), and then just clear the data. I would believe it will solve all your conflicts with TouchWiz launcher..
Or if you got no choice to do, try to boot in safe mode.
Press and hold the menu button right from when the boot animation start until you see the GUI...

If you did it this way, please reply...

(I did it a year ago on this cheap £100 Galaxy Y...)

When the error pops up do not press force close, instead press and hold on your search button (magnifying glass). Go to Google Play if possible. Click that link and it should bring you to the android market, or pop up a menu where you can select the android Market app. From here, search for a new launcher by typing in "launcher". I searched for "ADW.Launcher" and installed it. After it installs, when you press the home button, it should pop up with a menu "Complete action using..." and a list of launchers, but first select the checkbox at the bottom "Use by default for this action" and then select ADW.Launcher (or your new launcher you just downloaded). Now you can access your phone normally. I know this doesn't fix the default twLauncher, but at least the phone's working. My apps look different on my home screen, so you will need to add favorites again.
